Carlos Cardoso, Tenore Representation: World Update: May 2017 Born in Tarouquela, Carlos Cardoso studied at "Beira Interior" with Maestro Ferreira. He won the 1st prize at Luísa Todi, the 3rd at Magda Olivero, the 1st at Rotary Club in Lisbon, the 2nd at Concorso internazionale Rubini in Romano di Lombardia where he gave his debut as Ernesto in Don Pasquale. In 2010/11 he was a member of the Opera Studio of Teatro S. Carlos in Lisbon and in 2011/13 of the "Accademia del Teatro alla Scala" in Milan. With the Accademia he sang in concerts in Italy, in Un giorno di Regno at Teatro Filarmonico in Verona, in Rossini's La Scala di Seta under Rousset and in Don Carlo as Conte di Lerma under Luisi and Morandi with Teatro alla Scala. Further debuts included Edgardo in Lucia di Lammermoor at the Dutch National Opera Amsterdam, Conte di Libenskof in Viaggio a Reims at Rossini Opera Festival in Bad Wildbad under Fogliani, Fernando in La Favorita at Liceu de Barcelona (concert version), Don Ramiro in La Cenerentola at Teatro alla Scala under Pascal and Mianiti. Engagements in 2015: Viaggio a Reims at Dutch National Opera Amsterdam under Montanari, La Cenerentola at Teatro alla Scala, debut as Duca di Mantova in Rigoletto for the »Festival Verdiano 2015» at Teatro Verdi di Busseto, Duca in Rigoletto (V. Grigolo's cover) with Teatro alla Scala, Adriana Lecouvreur at Teatre de la Monnaie Bruxelles under Pidò. In 2016 he gave his debut as Don Narciso in Il Turco in Italia with Landestheater Salzburg and sang again Duca in Rigoletto in Busseto. With Teatro Sao Carlo in Lisbon he sang Ismaele in Nabucco. Engagements in 2016/17: Again he is Duca in Rigoletto at the Aalto Theater Essen conducted by Matteo Beltrami, Conte di Leicester in Maria Stuarda at the Stadttheater Klagenfurt, Tebaldo in I Capuleti e i Montecchi at the Opera Vilnius conducted by Sesto Quatrini. Im September 2017 he will sing again Portugal in Orff's Carmina Burana und Jonathan Doves' Monster in the maze with the Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian. In the 2017/18 sings Carlos Cardoso at the Aalto Theater Essen following roles: Duca in Rigoletto, Rodolfo in La Bohème, Narraboth in Salome, Pong in Turandot, Alfredo in La Traviata and Pinkerton in Madama Butterfly. He will also sing in the New Years Concert conducted by Matteo Beltrami. In Vilnius he will perform again Capuleti e Montecchi. Carlos Cardoso worked with conductors such as Alberto Madureira da Silva, João Paulo Santos, António Lourenço, Eliseo Castrignanò, Lawrence Foster, Bruno Casoni, Marco Angius, Jader Bignamini, Francesco Angelico, Stefano Ranzani, George Pehlivanian and Sesto Quatrini.
