and refurbish a large detached dwelling within the

desirable village of Chorleywood, Hertfordshire, to

create a 2,700 ft2 sustainable family home with a

contemporary style and finish.

Working closely with our client and the appointed

design team, MBS created an attractive and bespoke

five bedroom residence within a conservation area.

The works required converting an existing three

bedroom house, double garage and a self-

contained one bedroom flat into a single luxury

family home. A new two storey extension was

constructed at the rear of the property, and a

new front entrance was also created.

Internally the property now features a galleried

reception hall, three bathrooms (two en-suites),

wood burner, underfloor heating, bi-fold doors and

a Megaflo system. These features have helped

deliver a contemporary 2,700 ft2 family home.

The Project

The property now provides an

attractive and sustainable family sized home with a contemporary style and finish

including a galleried reception hall,

en-suite bathrooms, underfloor heating

and modern kitchen, breakfast and dining areas.

This luxury residence has been designed and

refurbished to meet exact specifications, and our

client was very pleased with our ability to work

intelligently with the design team to deliver a high

quality contemporary style and finish.

Drawing on our experience, supply chain relationships

and technical expertise we were able to offer our

client optimum solutions that reflected value for

money, whilst meeting their brief and fixed financial

budget. All materials and labour were sourced from

our approved panel, and we introduced innovative

technologies such as the Megaflo system, which

means efficient hot water delivery, high-performance

showers throughout the home, fast-filling baths,

quieter mains pressure system and balanced water

pressure. This system exceeds Best Practice for

heat recovery and insulation.

Bespoke designs, purpose built features and the

highest standards of workmanship combine to provide

a luxury residence that harmonises sustainability and

contemporary finishes, whilst integrating sensitively

within this conservation area.

Summary

Working closely with our client and the appointed design team during the planning stage and throughout the build we were able to add value to the process and ultimately create a contemporary family home that exceeded expectations.
