CLIENT DESCRIPTION – “ALICIA”
African-American Female 15 years old 9th grade student at a public high school in
Mississippi Approximately 450 students 9th – 12th grades
Lives with paternal grandmother and grandfather
Five siblings – four sisters and one brother

PURPOSE OF ASSESSMENT
Client wished to discuss career planning in bi-weekly sessions
Assessments used to gather information about the client’s personality, self-concept, self-advice, and interests to help with career planning

ASSESSMENT PROCEDURES AND PROTOCOL
Parent/guardian signed informed consent; client assented to enter the counseling relationship
Explanation of the purposes of the assessments given to the client
First assessment – face-to-face interview; second assessment – completed online by client at the assessment creator’s website. Both assessments were administered during the
same session.
