Human Resource Management Case Study

TRANSCRIPT

Teng, Dale Gabriel C.MKA31

1) State the main problem of Cristina Andres as supervisor of the company.

First of all as a supervisor of the company, Cristina Andres should have to consider the pregnancy of her employee. I think the problem here is not letting her employee to file a maternity leave and keeping a privilege to her pregnant employee, because the assigned job requires physical exertion which is unlawful for her to do.

2) State the different areas of consideration following the SWOT matrix:

Strengths of the company :

Vertical integrationIntegrated product offer Wide range of products Wide geographic spreadEstablished export businessStrong skill baseGood assetsSize and market share Proven ability to improve

Weaknesses of the company:

Low service levelsWeak customer relationsHigh fixed-cost baseSlow to respond to marketManagement skillsInternally focusedUnder-utilizing assetsIndustrial relationsDisparate systems

Opportunities:

Improved planning systemsCustomer service excellenceLower working capitalCost rationalizationNew business in serviceExploit competitor weaknessesEnvironmentally positive productsNew products developmentNew technology

Threats:

Irrational competitor pricingCompetitor speedSupplier powerCyclic behavior of industryComplacency in the upturnLosing key peopleLosing access to resourcesCompetitive productsShrinking global market

3) Give your proposed solutions/alternative courses of action or ACA(minimum of three) to help Cristina Andres overcome this problem. State also the advantages and disadvantages of each.

a) Based on my assessment, an alternative course would be taking a good control of quality management that will help and satisfy employees who are pregnant, with disability and the seniors.b) Considering and scheduling different time clusters so that workers have a proper replacement. Planning manufacturing activities, delivery schedules, and purchasing activities toenhance efficiency and increase productivity.c) Any health insurance provided by an employer must cover expenses for pregnancy-related conditions on the same basis as costs for other medical conditions. It must hold an open job for a pregnancy-related absence the same length of time jobs are held open for employees on sick or disability leave and must be permitted to work as long as they are able to perform their jobs.

4) State your recommendation based on your ACA.

Given that this study provides a basis for concluding irrational benefit for pregnant employees based on this case would document decisions regarding their relatively current conditions.

5) Provide a conclusion/detailed action plant to implement your recommendation using the guide below.Specific ActivityPerson ResponsibleTime FrameBudgetary Requirements
