Project Outcome

Aluminum oxide will hit a part three or four mes before it fractures and turns to dust. It is a very hard media with a low bulk density. Transmet Cast Zinc Shot is extremely durable; lasng over 12,000 hits before it fractures and turns to dust.

Cast Zinc Shot is a relavely so material, but with a higher bulk density than aluminum oxide. The higher bulk density enables the shot to clean more effecvely than the aluminum oxide without the work stoppage dust causes.

Transmet Approach

Customers are consuming massive quan es of aluminum oxide on a monthly basis. They are also generang a lot of dust. Not only is the dust a nuisance to collect and deal with, but it is slowing down machine operators. The operators are slowed down by excess dust clouding the machine so much that they are unable to see the parts they are blasng, thereby requiring them to stop work periodically for dust to clear from the cabinet.
