CASTING THE VISION

When we got off the plane, we were tired and ready for bed but I was in awe of the 30 million plus lost people in Ja-karta and was excited about what God could do and is doing there. We shared the Gospel several times but no one got saved that we know of. Pastor LeBron reminded me of the Power of the gospel; so often we forget it. It was proclaimed

Be ye therefore very courageous to keep and to do all that is written in

the book of the law of Moses, that ye turn not aside therefrom to the right

hand or to the left; Joshua 23:6

We report with great joy on the missions support project and the “Twentieth Anniversary Gathering” in conjunction with the Martha Compton Offering for Association Missions. A total of $1350.00 in coins, cash, checks was raised to benefit Pure Wa-ter Pure Love. Thank you, girls and boys, students, women and men, for your support! We also thank each person who prayed for the needs of Waccamaw Association, whether on-site, from your work places, homes, or wherever you were. Many of us are familiar with the phrase “Summertime, and the livin’ is easy…” from Summertime, an aria composed by George Gershwin in 1934. Today, “summertime” repre-sents a break from school and sched-uled projects and ministries. However, we know there is no such thing as “breaking” from doing God’s work. As He calls us, we should always be ready, eager, and willing to uplift oth-ers as opportunity presents itself. The definition of Uplift according to Encar-ta World English Dictionary, is “…spiritually lift somebody: to help somebody attain a higher intellectual, moral, or spiritual level, or improve the living conditions of somebody.” Though most churches break from meeting and activities during sum-

NEW LOCAL MINISTRY: CHILDREN’S BIBLE STORY BOOKS IN EVERY HOME

Children’s Bible Story Books in Every Home is a new Non-Profit which was found-ed on February 15, 2017 to raise funds and place Bible Story Books into every home in SC. The two Bible story books chosen are old, tried and tested, and updated. They are The Bible in Pictures for Little Eyes to See by Kenneth Taylor and The Egermeier Bible Story Book by Elsie Egermeier. The Board hopes to place a free The Bible in Pictures for Little Eyes to See In the hands of every new parent IN SC through the chaplains in the hospitals. We have permission to start in Conway. We hope to place the Egermeir Bible Story Book in the homes of every second grader. Please pray with us that God will open the door for that to happen. With God all things are possible. We believe these books will make a difference in the lives and hearts of the children and the par-ents. That was my, Patricia Milley’s, experi-ence when I read Bible stories to my chil-dren. “Faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the Word of God” Romans 10: 17 Isai-ah 11:6 states the “And a little child shall lead them.” I have worked with these books and taught them for 30 some years. They are very effective and bring surprising results. We can change the trends in our society and culture by placing these books in every child’s home. If you would like more information, please contact Patricia Milley at [email protected].

mer, it yet is an excellent season to UPLIFT others within our churches. Consider how your church can be on mission this summer: Unify Bring people and groups together for a common goal or purpose. Plan Propose an event through which young people can be on mission: host an event at a nursing home Lead Guide students, children, and/or adults to begin a new ministry: prayer walk communities near you Inspire Encourage your church, students, adults, and children to be on mission as they go: Have a “grass cutting day” for elderly neighbors, friends, etc. Find Discover opportunities to use gifts and talents of everyone in your church: Plan and host a Back Yard Bible Club and cookout for children Teach Instruct youth how to plan for and im-plement a fundraiser for a local minis-try: Find a ministry which has project needs; donate funds raised to them As we UPLIFT others, we will grow in our own faith! Try it! UPLIFT others this summer God bless, Peggy Jones, WMU Director
