About DAB Fire EngineeringWhen a fire breaks out, there is no room for second measures. Our carbon dioxide cylinder valves have been used for over 40 years in fire extinguishing system installations around the world, setting the standard for performance and reliability.

The gaseous fire extinguishing components we put our name to are pieces of fine-tuned, precision engineering. We benchmark ourselves against the best for reliability and effectiveness. Then we go one better, ensuring anything carrying the DAB name sets new standards, feels just right and works when it matters.

Each and every one of our products is designed at our facilities in the UK, and made using material sourced from the best suppliers.

Designed with maintenance in mindOur solid designs, durable construction and the use of corrosion resistant materials ensure our products have a long service life. Where components require field replacement, this can be done easily and quickly.

Our modular actuator design aids your maintenance as the system can be fully mechanically isolated and tested if required.

Our service is precision engineered tooIt is not just our products that perform exceptionally under pressure.

Our team are agile, responsive and passionate about what they do. Some might call them engineering geeks. We call them brilliant specialists. What’s for sure is that their dedication to quality, constant improvement and collaboration gives our customers reliable fire extinguishing products, valves and services that won’t let them down.

D11056Bleed Valve

Key features and benefits:

• Solid brass one-piece body

• Reset knob for easy operation

• Automatic operation on system actuation

In the open position, the valve allows pilot gas to pass to the atmosphere thus preventing any rise in pressure in the pilot line. However, when the system is operated, the pilot pressure rises rapidly above the closing pressure and the valve closes thereby allowing actuation to take place immediately.

After operation, when the system is bled, the valve will reset automatically. However, if there is no provision for bleeding, this can be achieved by simply pushing in the reset knob.

The bleed valve is supplied with a ¼" NPT female thread and it is designed to shut fully at a pressure of 2 bar.

D1097120mm - 50mm (¾” - 2”) Pressure Operated Directional Valve

When using pilot pressure to operate the valve, the compact actuator assembly and two stage seat assembly ensure light operating loads throughout the entire pressure range. The valve is designed to operate either pre-selected or under full pressure.

They are available in ¾” to 2” BSPT NPT outlet ports.

Operating Temperature -20°C to +50°C

Pressure Range 10 bar to 140 bar

Control Pressure 11 bar to 140 bar

Pressure operated directional (POD) valves allow more than one hazard area to be protected by the same bank of cylinders, by directing the gas to the fire area. Supplied in single or double inlet configurations, these valves are designed to give maximum versatility of operation and can be used in CO2 or halocarbon systems.

These valves can be supplied in the following optional configurations

Single or Double InletThe valve can be supplied in single or double inlet configurations.

Ports may be supplied with either BSPT or NPT threads to suit the

manifold.

Manual Hand-Wheel

Turning the hand-wheel anticlockwise initiates the opening of the

valve. Turning further fully opens the valve. Turning the hand-wheel

fully clockwise will close the valve.

Pressure Operation Only

A ⅛” BSPT or ⅛” NPT actuator port (dependant on customer

requirements) is provided in the side face of the valve. When a pres-

sure of at least 11 Bar is applied to this port, the valve will fully open.

When pressure is removed the valve will automatically close.

Transfer Valve Block

An optional transfer valve block can be supplied fitted to the side of

the POD valve. When a DAB actuator is fitted to the valve block, the

transfer valve enables manifold pressure from inside the POD valve,

if sufficient pressure is present, to be used to open the POD valve.

Micro-SwitchAn optional micro-switch can be supplied fitted to the side of the

POD valve. Its function is to provide a means of electrical

indication when the valve is fully open or closed.

D1097975mm - 100mm (3” - 4”) Pressure Operated Directional Valve

Electrical switching of actuation is provided, giving visual indication when the valve is in the full open position.

A ⅛” BSPT or ⅛” NPT outlet port (dependant on customer requirements) is provided to operate other equipment once the valve is open.

Manual Hand-Wheel Operation

Turning the hand-wheel anticlockwise initiates the opening of the valve. Turning further fully opens the valve. Turning the hand-wheel fully clockwise will close the valve.

Pressure Operation

A ⅛” BSPT or ⅛” NPT actuator port (dependant on customer requirements) is provided in the side face of the valve bonnet. When a pressure of at least 11 bar is applied to this port, the valve will fully open. When pressure is removed, the valve will automatically close.

NOTE: This valve is available for use in marine environments only.
