World Day of the Poor/Front Street Clinic The first World Day of the Poor is being observed

this Sunday, November 19. In his apostolic letter

to close the Year of Mercy, Pope Francis

suggested the Catholic Church set aside one day

each year when communities can “reflect on how

poverty is at the very heart of the Gospel.” He

designated this day as the World Day of the Poor

and it will be celebrated on the 33rd Sunday in

Ordinary Time each year.

As part of the World Day for the Poor socks, warm hats and gloves will be collected this weekend to be donated to the Front Street Clinic.

Welcome, Bishop Andrew!

Bishop Andrew Bellisario, our new bishop, will

be celebrating all the Masses here at the Cathe-

dral this weekend. Come to meet and greet our

new bishop at a reception after Mass.

Thanksgiving

Mass on Thanksgiving Day: 9:30am

Fr. Pat Casey and the Cathedral staff wish

each of you a most Blessed and Happy

Thanksgiving! We pray for you with gratitude

for all you do in our parish and for your pres-

ence among us.

Catholic Campaign for Human Development

Annual Collection

Please be generous in the second collection for the Catholic Campaign for Human Development on November 26. In the United States, one in six people lives in poverty. With this collection you support programs that address the causes of poverty and provide a sustainable future for those who are struggling across the country. In addition, 25 percent of funds collected remains in our diocese to fund local antipoverty projects. Please, prayerfully consider how you can support this collection and work on the margins.

The series is presented on Thursday evenings at 6:30pm, St. Peter’s Hall, 9055 Atlin Drive. All are welcome.
