PRESCRIPTION OF EFFECTIVE TICK DESTROYING AGENTS, 1979[L.N. 5/1979, L.N. 37/1987, L.N. 173/1994.]

1. The preparations specified in the Schedule 1 hereto, in the percentages or proportionsrespectively specified therein, are effective tick destroying agents for the purposes of the Act.

2. Cleansing cattle by hand dressing and dipping shall be done in such a manner as isspecified in Schedule 2 hereto.

3. Legal Notice No. 25 of 1976 is hereby cancelled.

SCHEDULE 1[Para. 1, L.N. 37/1989, L.N. 173/1994.]

1. A solution of arsenious oxide, As203 in the following concentrations—(a) where cleaning by immersion or spraying is repeated at intervals of not more

than seven or not less than five days, 0.16 per cent by weight; or

(b) where cleaning by immersion or spraying is at intervals of three days, 0.08per cent by weight:

Provided that when Cooper's Improved Dip Wash S.D.C. Arsenicola Improved Dip Washor any other dip wash specifically approved by the Director of Veterinary Services from timeto time, is used, such concentration of arsenious oxide may be reduced, where the cleaningis repeated at intervals of not more than seven or less than five days, to 0.125 per cent byweight.

2. A mixture containing benzene hexachloride of which the gamma isomer concentrationis not less than—

(a) in the case of benzene hexachloride powders and pastes, 0.02 per cent byweight (200 parts per million of water) provided that when these are usedin immersion dips dipping will not be deemed to have commenced untilsuspension of the active principle by a suitable means of agitation is complete;or

(b) in the case of benzene hexachloride emulsions, 0.01 per cent by weight (100parts per million of water).

3. An emulsion containing chlorinated camphene at concentrations of not less than—(a) 0.25 per cent toxaphene when the cleaning by immersion or spraying is

repeated at intervals of not more than seven days;

(b) 0.5 per cent toxaphene when the cleaning by immersion or spraying isrepeated at intervals of not more than ten days.

4. An emulsion containing dieldrin at a concentration of not less than 0.05 per cent dieldrinwhen the cleaning by immersion or spraying is repeated at intervals of not more than sevendays.

5. A suspension of “Sevin 85 per cent Sprayable” brand of 1-naphthyl carbamate containingnot less than 0.2 per cent of the active principle, when such a suspension is used forcleansing by spraying only at intervals of not more than seven days.

6. A suspension of “Supona” brand of 20 per cent water miscible concentrateChlorfenvinphos (2 chloro-1-(2,4 dichlorophenyl)- vinyl diethyl phosphate) containing notless than 0.05 per cent of the active principle when such a suspension is used for cleansingby immersion or spraying at intervals of not more than seven days.

7. A suspension containing not less than 0.025 per cent of Chlorfenvinphos and not lessthan 0.025 per cent of Dioxathion (1, 4-dioxan 2, 3 diyl bis-(0 0 diethyl phosphorodithloate)when such a suspension is used for cleansing by immersion or spraying at intervals of notmore than seven days.

8. A suspension of “Asuntol” brand 0, 0,—Diethyl 0,—3— chloro—4—methyl-coumarin—7—yl—phosphorothioate, containing not less than 0.05 per cent of the active principle, whensuch suspension is used for cleansing by immersion or spraying at intervals of not morethan seven days.

9. A suspension of “Sevin 85 per cent Sprayable” brand of 1-naphthyl N-methyl carbamate,containing not less than 0.2 per cent of the active principle and to which has been addedsingle superphosphate in a ratio of three parts of single superphosphate to one part of “Sevin85 per cent Sprayable” by weight, when such suspension is used for cleansing by immersiononly at intervals of not more than seven days.

10. A suspension of “Bacdip 50 per cent” brand of 0-Ethyl-0 (8-Quinolyl)-benzene-thionophosphonate containing not less than 0.02 per cent of the active principle, when suchsuspension is used for cleansing at intervals of not more than seven days.

11. A dispersion in water of “Delnav DFF”—a solvent-free water dispersable preparationof dioxiathion (B. Vet. C.)—containing not less than 0.050 per cent of the active principlewhen such a dispersion is used for cleansing by immersion or spraying at intervals of notmore than seven days.

12. An emulsion of Batestan 70 per cent brand of 0, 0, —Diethyl-S-(5, 7,dichlorobenzoxazol-2ylmethyl)-dithiophosphate containing not less than 0.049 per cent ofthe active principle, both in sprayrace and dip tank, when such emulsion is used for cleansingat intervals of not more than seven days.

13. A suspension in water of “Triatix 12.5 per cent” brand of a diaznidine, 1, 5-di (2, 4-dimethylpheny1)-3- methyl-1, 3, 5-triazapenta-1, 4-diene containing not less than 0.025 percent activeprinciple, when such a suspen-sion is used for cleansing of cattle by sprayingonly at intervals of not more than seven days.

14. A suspension in water of “Triatix 12.5 per cent” brand of a diantidine, 1, 5-di (2, 4-dimethylpheny11-3- methyl-1, 3, 5-triazapenta-1, 4-diene containing not less than 0.025per cent active principle, and stabilized with a suspension of not less than 0.3 per centcalcium hydroxide in the wash giving a pH of 11-12, when such suspension is used for cattlecleansing by submersion at intervals of not more than seven days.

15. A suspension in water of “Farmtraz 12.5 per cent” brand of diamidide, N-Methylbis (2,4-Xylymonomethyl) amine con-taining not less than 0.025 per cent active principle, whensuch a suspension is used for cleansing of cattle by spraying only at intervals of not morethen seven days.

16. A suspension in water of “Norotraz 12.5 per cent” brand of a diamidide, N-Methylbis (2,4-Xylylimonomethyl) amine containing not less than 0.025 per cent active principle, whensuch a suspension is used for cleansing of cattle by spraying only at intervals of not morethan seven days.

17. A suspension in water of “Agrotraz 12.5 per cent” brand of a diamidide, 2-methyl-1, 3-di (2, 4xylylimino)-2-azaperon containing not less than 0.025 per cent active principle, whensuch a suspension is used for cleansing of cattle by spraying only at interval of not morethan seven days.

SCHEDULE 2[Paragraph 2.]

(1) By applying to the insides of the ears, the end of the tail and under the tail an oilydressing; or

(2) by spraying or brushing onto the heels, the insides of the ears, the end of the tail andunder the tail a suspension in water of “Delnav DFF” brand of Dioxathion containing not lessthan 0.1375 per centum of the active principle, or a suspension in water of “Bacdip” brand ofQuintiofos containing not less than 0.02 per centum of the active principle, or a suspensionin water of “Sevin 85 per cent sprayable” brand of Carbaryl containing not less than 0.2 percentum of the active principle; or

(3) if so ordered by an inspector, by removing the tail brush by clipping.

PRESCRIPTION OF CLEANING METHODS, 1979[L.N. 194/1979.]

IN EXERCISE of the powers conferred by section 2 of the Cattle Cleansing Act, theDirector of Veterinary Services prescribes that the cleaning of cattle within the cattlecleansing areas set out in the Schedule shall be by dipping or by mechanical spraying atintervals not exceeding seven days.

SCHEDULE

1. A suspension in water of “DOMINEX 10 percent” brand of alphacypermethrin,alpha-cyano-3-phenoxybenzyl-3-(2,2-dichlorovinyl)2-2-dimethyl-cyclopropane caboxylatecontaining not less than 0.005 percent active principle when such a suspension is used forcattle cleansing by spraying or submersion at intervals of not more than seven days.

2. A suspension in water of “DICATIX 5 percent” brand of deltamethrin, (S)-cyano-3-phenoxybenzyl, (IR, 3R)-3-(2,2-dibromovinyl)-2-2-dimethyl-cyclopropane carboxylatecontaining not 2-dichlorovinyl) 2, 2-dimethyl-cyclopropane carboxylate containing not lessthan 0.005 percent active principle when such a suspension is used for cattle cleansing byspraying or submersion at intervals of not more than seven days.

3. A suspension in water of “DELETEEC 5 percent” brand of deltamethrin, (S)-alpha-cynano-3-phenoxybenzyl, (IR)-cis-3-(2,2-dibromovinyl)-2, 2-dimethyl-cyclopropanecarboxylate containing not less than 0.005 percent active principle when such a suspensionis used for cattle cleansing by spraying or submersion at intervals of not more than sevendays.

4. A suspension in water of “DELTAB 25 percent’ brand of deltamethrin, (S)-alpha-cyano-3-phenoxybenzyl, (IR)—cis-3-(2,2-dibromovinyl)-2, 2-dimethyl-cyclopropanecarboxylate containing not less than 0.005 percent active principle when such a suspensionis used for cattle cleansing by spraying or submersion at intervals of not more than sevendays.

5. A suspension in water of “ECTOMIN 10 percent” brand of cypermethrin, (RS)-alpha-cyano-3-phenoxybenzyl (IR)-cis, trans-3-(2-2-dibromovinyl)-2, 2-dimethyl-cyclopropanecarboxylate containing not less than 0.01 percent active principle when such a suspension isused for cattle cleansing by spraying or submersion at intervals of not more than seven days.

6. A suspension in water of “GRENADE 5 percent” brand of cyhalothrin, (RS)-alpha-cyano-3-phenoxybenzyl (IR)-cis, (Z-2-chloro-3-3-3, trifluoropropl-enyl), 2, 2-dichlorovinyl)2, 2-carboxylate containing not less than 0.005 percent active principle when such asuspension is used for cattle cleansing by spraying or submersion at intervals of not morethan seven days.

7. A suspension in water of “PYTIX 4 percent” brand of naturalpyrethrins,-2, 2-dimethyl-3-(2-methyl-propenyl)-2-methyl-4-oxo-3-)2, 4-pentadienyl)-2-cyclopanten and 3-(3-methoxy-2-methyl-oxo-1-propenyl)-2, 2-dimenthyl-2-meththyl-4-oxo-3-(2, 4-pentadienyl)-2-cycloponten, containing not less than 0.05 percent activeprinciple when such a suspension is used for cattle cleansing by spraying or submersion atintervals of not more than seven days.

8. A suspension in water of “DOMINEX-TAB 10 percent” brand of alphacypermethrin, alpha-cyano-3-phenoxybenzyl-3-(2,2- dichlorovinyl) 2-2- dimethyl-cyclopropane carboxylate

containing not less than 0.005 percent active principle when such a suspension is used forcattle cleansing by spraying at intervals of not more than seven days.

9. A pour on formulation of “BAYTICOL 1 percent” brand of flumethrin, a-cyano-(4-flouro-3-phenoxy)-benzyl-3-2 (2-chloro-2-) 4-chlorophenyl)-ethyl-2, 2 dimethyl-cyclopropane carboxylate containing not less than 1 percent active principle when such aspot-on is used for cleansing of cattle at a rate of 10 ml. per 100kg. body weight by applyingdirectly onto cattle at intervals of not more than seven days.
