Accessing the portal• Portal linked to from CBEO site (and there is a

• Logging in as a regular user:– Access to applications depending on your credentials

It is easy to create a new project• Click “Start a project”

– You are a project lead, project is not approved yet– You can “Modify Team” and send an invitation to join,

also assign roles to members• When you get an invitation

– If you are a member of the portal already, then login and go to MyProjects, and accept invitation

– If you are not a member, register to the portal (using the same email address that the invite was sent to!!!), then go to MyProjects, and accept invitation

• Explore the CBEO-ALL project– You can edit a project wiki, discussion board, upload

or register resources to a project (and a few other functions – it is configurable)

• Add resources by uploading them (limited size), or registering resources from the portal

Finding data and services (resources)

• Find data registered by CBEO people, or registered by members of other portals a federation of data sharing portals across disciplines

• Many different data types can be searched (and ontologies)

• For found datasets and services:– explore metadata, download, add to workspace, view– What you can do with a resource depends on how this resource

was registered– Resources can be added to your project
