PREFACE

Scope

The following is a selected bibliography of works which deal with orrelate to desert plants and their cu.ltivation. Most of the workslisted have been selected with the beginning "desert gardener" in mind.However, although our aim is to acquaint the novice desert gardenerwith works of potential interest to him, a nUlllber of works are includedwhich shou.ld serve well those who may wish to expand their interest inthe field.

The majority of works listed desl with the flora of the Southwesterndesert regions of the United States. All are in English, and most areheld by the Library of the New York Botanical Garden.
