Our ANNUAL D.A.D.'s Day SPORTING CLAY SHOOT will be on Saturday, September 12, at Black Wing Shooting Center, 3722 Marysville Road, Ostrander, Ohio 43061. We are planning a 10 a.m. shotgun start with lunch beginning at Noon. Registration begins at 9 a.m. All profits from the outing will benefit D.A.D.'s (Dollars Against Diabetes).
D.A.D.'s is an annual campaign organized in 1987 by the North American Building Trades Unions to raise money for the Diabetes Research Institute located at the University of Miami in Florida. (www.diabetesresearch.org/Blueprint-for-Cure) "DRI" opened the doors in 1994 to a state of the art facility, built 100% union, and is now recognized as the most advanced research center of its kind, focused on finding a cure for diabetes. ''NABTU", their affiliates, and other unions continue to raise money through the D.A.D.'s Day Program - Blueprint for Cure, contributing more than $48 million in 27 years. Since 1988, more than $124,000 has been raised by the Columbus/Central Ohio Building & Construction Trades Council.
Millions of Americans have been diagnosed with diabetes and millions more remain undiagnosed. The statistics for central Ohio show that diabetes continues to impact increasing numbers of adults and children - our members and our families. The costs due to diabetes and its complications can be hardship to everyone.
We appreciate your support of D.A.D.'s Day. You can make a difference!
