E-Mail Marketing OCCP45301 $30 + $10 Lab Learn the practical aspects of selling via email and the Internet and practice the techniques required to attract customers with professional-looking e-mail advertisements, announcements, and newsletters. Franchising - Intro OCCP52701 $25 + $10 Lab Franchising is responsible for 760,000 businesses, 18 million jobs, 14% of private sector employment, and over $500 billion in payroll. This comprehensive class will describe how franchising works, costs involved, how to locate franchises, questions to ask, laws and regulations, companies and types of businesses that comprise the franchising field, advantages and disadvantages, different forms of franchising, and sources of information. Grant Writing & Securing Grants OCCP01601 $70 + $25 Lab This concentrated course provides an overview of grant researching, finding grant sources, creating letters of inquiry, proposal development, and relationship building. Low Cost Advertising OCCP55301 $30 + $10 Lab Advertising informs customers of the availability, desirability, and uses of products. This course will focus on low-cost advertising practices for small businesses. Topics include: the different media types and advantages/disadvantages of each; costs, the advertising budget, and the selection of media appropriate for your market; and the creation of your promotional message. Pricing Your Product or Service OCCP54501 $30 + $10 Lab Understand how to maximize your profit by optimizing the price of your product or service. The course examines the main strategies for selecting a price. Lecture and hands-on practice will examine the relationship of unit price, quantity, fixed cost, and variable cost to your company’s profit. Break-even analysis and pricing constraints (competition and legal/ethical considerations) are also covered. 3 Hours. Thurs., 4/11, 6-9 p.m. STC, Room 4023.

Sales Forecasting OCCP55401 $25 + $10 Lab For new small business owners, using sales forecasting requires studying the industry, compiling a consumer profile, and getting a sense of the competitions’ sales to gather enough information to do simple sales projections. Learn how to understand research sales figures and how to gather data for your industry and business. You’ll discover how to estimate your market share in terms of customer numbers; calculate how often they will buy per year; and project the average dollar amount of each purchase in order to project sales volume. Learn about working as a medical scribe, medical transcriptionist or medical biller/coder; how to perform medical transcription simply and cost-effectively; and how to avoid expensive and common mistakes. You’ll learn about marketing your business easily, operating capital and grants, and pricing and collections. Also included is information regarding computers and software, transcription equipment, electronic files, business taxes, professional organizations, networking, and employee vs. subcontractor facts. Students will learn the components of a personal computer, how to install an operating system, and peripheral devices. Networks and security will be introduced along with some communication and professionalism discussions. Students will cover skills such as installation, building, upgrading, repairing, configuring, troubleshooting, optimizing, diagnosing, and preventive maintenance. This certification requires students to pass two supervised tests. Lab fee includes book, a tool kit, and two exam vouchers. CompTIA’s Network+ Certification OCCP07201 $1,295 + $235 Lab This course is designed for IT professionals seeking to learn more about information security and who are working towards earning their CompTIA Security+ certification. Topics include authentication, cryptography, vulnerabilities and attacks, infrastructure security, physical security, and others. This certification requires students to pass a supervised test. Lab fee includes books and exam voucher. Prereq: knowledge of Windows operating system, Internet usage, and file management. GIS Mapping Certificate Program OCCP47301 $1,100 + $90 Lab The 30-hour GIS (Geographic Information System) Mapping Certificate Program develops the skills necessary to understand and utilize ESRI’s ArcGIS software and introduces GIS concepts including data structures and sources of data, GIS tools, applications, and resources. Exercises include spatial data display and query, map generation, and simple spatial analysis using ArcGIS software. Microsoft Access 2010 OCCP20101 $130 + $45 Lab This course introduces students to relational databases and how to properly design one. Students will learn how to create a table, enter data into that table, and create a relationship between that table and a new table. Students will work with queries, forms, and reports. Casino Dealer Training

Attention First Time Students. “Introduction to Gaming” is a prerequisite for inexperienced students. You can only register for table games classes if you have completed or are scheduled for “Introduction to Gaming” first. Please know that class times and dates are subject to change. PREREQUISITE FOR BEING A DEALER: Dealers must possess the ability to deal multiple games and variations of those games. Manual dexterity, color perception and the ability to stand 100% of the time is expected. Basic math skills, quick recall, and the ability to calculate without aid are required.

As a dealer you will be exposed to second hand smoke and higher than normal noise levels. Exceptional guest services skills and the ability to handle difficult people are essential. A dealer must possess excellent verbal communication skills and be able to adjust interaction with people when necessary. Since a dealer is part of a Casino’s entertainment, an outgoing personality is an important attribute.

Professional appearance and attitude are equally important. Personal grooming and appropriate dress must meet Casino standards. The minimum age requirement to perform the work of a dealer is 18. Successful candidates will be able to work a flexible schedule including all shifts, evenings, weekends and holidays, and must pass an audition/interview and all pre-employment testing. If hired, the employee must secure and maintain a Pennsylvania Gaming License. All dealers are required to successfully complete CPR instruction.

Introduction to Gaming $175 + $5 LabIn this class, you’ll cover the basics of the casino atmosphere along with chip handling techniques, chip color value, value of a bet and pit procedures, and the roles of each position in the casino chain of command. Additional topics covered include customer service, conflict resolution, time and self-management, dealing with difficult people, and more.
