Driving to CNW: If you are driving to Calligraphy Northwest, there are directions on the Reed Website: http://www.reed.edu/apply/gettingtoreed.html

Weather: Portland, Oregon. If you go to weather.com, you will see that the averages for the week of the conference are 75 for the high and 55 for the low. According to oregonlive.com, last year during the same week, the high temps ranged from 68 degrees to 81 degrees. Some days were sunny, some partly cloudy, and there were showers on some days.

Towels: If you like extra large fluffy towels, you may want to bring your own. The towels at conferences have gotten larger and plusher over the years. At CNW your towel will be the type that is used in "sports facilities.” Towels are on the CNW suggested packing list. Bed: CNW is to get back to me about the bed size (twin or long twin) and what kind of mattress. Pillow: If you are particular about your pillow, you might consider taking your own. Sheets: Sheets at conferences are almost always 50/50 cotton/poly blend. If you want 100% cotton sheets, you will need to bring them.
