The Cedarville University women's soccer team hosts Wittenberg University in a non-conference battle tonight at Yellow Jacket Field.

The Lady Jackets enter tonight's match with a 4-2 record hav­ing lost 5-1 to undefeated Otterbein College on Tuesday after­noon. The loss stopped a modest three-match winning streak for Cedarville.

Freshman forward Ashley Nevitt leads the Lady Jacket offensive attack with six goals and four assists for 16 points. She set a school record in last Saturday's 9-1 win at Marian College with 10 points on four goals and two assists. Sophomore forward Laura Radcliffe is second in scoring with 15 points ....._......_ ___ ~

Ashley Nevitt on six goals and three assists. Junior forward Jane Adams has posted five goals and four assists for 14 points. Senior keeper Jessica Balser is 2-2 in the nets while Melissa Fawcett, also a senior, has a 2-0 mark. The Lady Jackets .have scored 25 • goals while allowing 1 O in their first six contests.

Wittenberg University, an NCAA Ill school, enters Laura Radcliffe

tonight's match with a 4-4-1 mark including a 2-0 shutout victory at Muskingum on Wednesday. The Tigers also hold a 1-0 win over AMC South Division member Ohio Dominican on Tuesday, Sept. 16th. Offensively, Wittenberg is led by one of the most prolific scorers in school history. Senior forward Geri Woessner earned all-conference and all-region honors her first two seasons before missing 2002 with a knee injury. Woessner is healthy again and leads the squad with four goals and 2 assists for 1 O points. Senior goalie Jenny Miller, a three-year starter, is allowing just 1.26 goals in nine games.

Cedarville holds a narrow 3-2 lead in the all-time series between the schools including a 2-1 double-overtime victory last fall at Wittenberg.

Otterbein put a halt to the Lady Jackets' three-match winning streak with a 5-1 non-con­ference victory on Tuesday. The unbeaten Cardinals surrendered the first goal and then reeled off five unanswered scores.

Jane Adams put Cedarville on the board in the 9th minute on an assist from Ashley Nevitt. After that, it was all Otterbein. The hosts scored ....__....,.. ....... _ ...... in the 15th and 32nd minutes for a 2-1 halftime Jane Adams

lead. A goal in the 60th minute gave the Cardinals some breath­ing room and then they found the net in the 73rd and 78th min­utes to blow it open.

matches when they travel to Marion, Indiana for a battle with Indiana Wesleyan University on Saturday, Oct. 4th at 1 pm.

Cedarville returns to AMC South Division action with a 4 pm contest at Ohio Dominican on Tuesday, Oct. 7.

The Lady Jackets return to Yellow Jacket Field and begin a six­match homestand on Saturday, Oct. 11 to face Grace College (IN) at 2 pm as part of Homecoming Weekend.
