Members of the Noon Lions Clubhave accomplished several communityservice projects from August to Decem-ber 2010. On Halloween night, we col-lected over 200 gently used eyeglasses,rang the bell for the Salvation Army inDecember and provided eye exams andeyeglasses through a local eye center tosix deserving individuals between Julyand November. The Club also received a$1,000 grant from the Mason City Clin-ic Charitable Giving Committee to carryout its work in providing eyeglasses andexams to those in need. The annualTailgate Chili Supper fundraiser inOctober at Mason City High School wasmade even more successful with the
sponsorship of local businesses. Inaddition, club members provided visionscreening to preschool-aged children infive local preschools. Finally, in Decem-ber, the Club collaborated with theCharles H. MacNider Art Museum toshowcase last year’s international PeacePoster Contests finalists, as well asposters by this year’s competing youngartists from Mason City. The New Yearwill continue to provide other opportu-nities for our members to serve ourcommunity.
