CellaTemp PA 40 AF 9x was specially designed to measure the temperature of filaments. With its high-resolution optics, this pyrometer can capture target spots as small as 4 mm at a distance of 162 mm.

CellaTemp PA 40 AF 9x detects infra-red energy emitted from the target at two different wavelengths and calcu-lates a temperature reading based on the ratio of these two values. This two-colour or dual wavelength technique produces highly reliable temperature data, even when sight path obstruc-tions such dust or steam or a dirty lens would normally weaken the signal. A two-colour or ratio pyrometer is also far less sensitive to fluctuating emis-sivity than a standard spectral pyrome-ter.

To view the target object, CellaTemp PA 40 AF 9x comes equipped with either through-the-lens sighting or a built-in colour video camera with HD (high dynamic) imaging. The video camera features TBC functionality (target brightness control) which en-ables its light sensitivity to adapt dy-namically to the brightness of the actual target object.

CellaTemp PA AF 9x provides highly versatile configuration options. The pyrometer features two analogue out-puts which the user can custom con-figure. Alternatively, one of the signal outputs can be configured as an input. Two switching outputs also provide a variety of combination possibilities and can be used as gate inputs.

In addition to emissivity, analogue current range and signal smoothing, CellaTemp PA AF 9x offers a variety of other functions and parameter set-tings.

The temperature data shown at the pyrometer’s LED display panel is easy to read from a distance of several meters. Parameters can be configured using the rear keypad. The USB inter-face enables remote configuration and the RS 485 provides network commu-nications capability.
