Kate the Great• Junior Katy Clements has been a force to be reckoned

with this season as she has scored near the top of all student-athletes in the Mid-American Conference in her three events (vault, beam and floor).

• Clements has earned MAC Gymnast of the Week honors twice this season (weeks one & seven).

• The junior captain's RQS currently ranks second on beam (9.880), third on floor (9.880) and sixth on vault (9.820) in the MAC, heading into Regionals.

• In the regular season, Clements earned 11 total titles and placed in the top three in 22 of the 30 events she participated in, cracking the top five 24 times.

• Perhaps the most impressive part about her talent is her progression. Clements either tied or set career highs on each of the three events she participated in this season (vault, beam and floor).

• Her career highs now stand at: Vault (9.850), Beam (9.925) and Floor (9.925).

• Clements won two titles on vault, four on beam and three on floor this season.

Freshman Sensation• Freshman Denelle Pedrick has been one of the biggest

components to the Chippewas' success this season as she has already posted impressive scores on all events.

• Pedrick currently ranks fourth in the MAC on vault with an RQS of 9.830 and also sits at eighth on floor with an RQS of 9.850.

• She joins teammates Gianna Plaksa and Kasey Janowicz as the only Chippewas who have competed in the all-around this season.

• Out of the three times she has competed in the all-around in the regular season, Pedrick took two titles.

• Pedrick captured six total titles and placed in the top five in her event an impressive 19 times in the regular season.

• The outstanding freshman has excelled at vault, earning three titles, three second-place finishes and only finishing worse than fourth once (6th place, 3/11).

The Janowicz Effect• Now in her sophomore season, Kasey Janowicz is

looking to repeat her incredible freshman year here at CMU.

• Janowicz's consistent performance through the course of her first year earned her the honor of 2016 MAC Freshman of the Year and also landed her on the All-MAC Second team.

• The then-freshman ranked third in the conference on vault RQS (9.830) and finished top three on vault in eight of nine meets, winning four times.

• Janowicz also finished first in the all-around in every meet she competed in, winning nine times.

• She totaled 18 first place finishes and 28 top three finishes.

• This year her return was delayed due to multiple surgeries.

• Janowicz ended up officially competing for the first time against MAC-rival Western Michigan (1/15) in the second meet of the season, although she was limited to only competing in the uneven bars.

• Since first competing this season, Janowicz has expanded her presence by competing on beam four

times, vault three times and floor twice (in regular season). In those events, the sophomore earned two titles on bars, against Kent State (2/19) and Rutgers (3/05), as well as one all-around title, captured in the meet against Rutgers.

• Although the coaching staff has been extremely careful in bringing their young star back, in the last two meets of the regular season, Janowicz competed in the all-around twice and recorded a career-high 39.400 against Rutgers (3/05). She then duplicated that career high in the MAC Championships, which was good enough to earn second place in the tournament.

Success on Floor• Heading into Regionals, CMU ranks second in the MAC

in team RQS on the floor with a score of 49.190.• At the end of the regular seaosn, three Chippewas

ranked in the top fifteen in RQS on floor in the MAC (Clements-5th, Hilliker-9th(t), Pedrick-15th)

• Central dominated on floor in the MAC Championships, boasting a team score of 49.400. Junior Macey Hilliker earned floor co-champion honors with her score of 9.950.

• Historically, CMU has set the pace for championships on floor with 21 titles, seven more than the next program (Kent State).

• Their 21 titles is six more than Eastern Michigan (7), Bowling Green (4), Western Michigan (4) and Northern Illinois (0) have combined.

• Central Michigan has scored perfect 10s on floor on four seperate occasions: Michelle Orloski (Twice, 3/15/03 & 3/22/03) and Kara Reighard (Twice, 2/29/04 & 2/6/05)

• Nikki Liphardt still holds the individual MAC. Championship meet record on floor with her score of 9.975, which she set in 1999.

• CMU also holds the team MAC Championship meet record on floor with the score of 49.575, which was set in 2003.

When it Counts• Central Michigan has had some of their best

performances when on the big stage.• Three of the possible five team records have come in the

MAC Championships: Overall (197.525, 3/19/04), vault (49.450, 3/19/04) and uneven bars (49.550, 3/28/03)

• The Chippewas have also posted their second highest team records in the MAC Championships in four of the five events: Overall (197.425, 3/28/03), uneven bars (49.475, 3/22/14), balance beam (49.325, 3/19/04) and the floor exercise (49.575, 3/28/03).

• Christine MacDonald is in her 22nd season with her alma mater.

• MacDonald was promoted to associate head coach in 2006 .

• Paired with Reighard, they form one of the longest-serving coaching combinations in collegiate gymnastics.

• MacDonald has helped lead the Chippewas to 11 victories at the MAC Championships as well as seven league regular-season titles, and 13 NCAA Regional berths.

• She has produced seven MAC Senior Gymnast of the Year winners, six league Freshman of the Year winners, five MAC Gymnast of the Year honorees and one conference Specialist of the Year.

• Sixty times Chippewa gymnasts have earned MAC individual titles during MacDonald’s tenure, and the Chippewas hold every MAC team and individual record for balance beam, vault, parallel bars and floor exercise – all of which has been achieved with MacDonald in the program.

• In the gym, Christine is responsible for the daily workout plans, spotting, nutritional oversight and conditioning programs along with overseeing floor and beam choreography.

• In 2003, MacDonald was named NCAA Central Regional Assistant Coach of the Year.

• Reighard took over the program in 1984-85, and by 1990, led the Chippewas to their first title at the MAC Championships.

• Reighard has guided CMU to first-place finishes at the league championships 15 times, including a record five consecutive from 2010-14. The 15 crowns and five in a row are both records.

• CMU has also won seven MAC regular-season championships in the 14 years that the conference has awarded a regular-season title.

• Reighard has been named the MAC Coach of the Year nine times as well as receiving the National Invitational Tournament Coach of the Year in 1998 and 2000.

• Five Chippewas, have earned the MAC Gymnast of the Year Award; eight have earned the league’s Senior Gymnast of the Year Award; and six have been named the conference Freshman of the Year.

• The Chippewas have won more individual MAC titles in the sport’s four disciplines – vault, uneven bars, balance beam and floor exercise – than any other program. CMU ranks first in uneven bars champions (16), floor exercise champions (21) and balance beam champions (11), and is second in vault champions (11).

• in 2003 he was named the NCAA Central Regional Coach of the Year after guiding the Chippewas to a best-in-program-history second-place finish at the NCAA Regional.

• under Reighard, CMU has made 13 regional appearances winning six individual regional championships.
