TRANSFORM A CHILD’S FUTURE. Each year, Epworth Children’s Home provides care to children in our own communities who have experienced abuse, neglect, and loss. Epworth’s care breaks the destructive cycle and encourages children to aim higher in life. The physical, emotional, academic, and spiritual care they receive transforms lives. On Sunday, May 14, 2017, our congregation will support Epworth by Collecting the Annual Epworth Mother’s Day Offering. We invite you to give generously to the children who call Epworth home.. Epworth does not receive denominational funding (apportionments). The Mother’s Day offering is our opportunity to support this vital ministry. For more information, please visit Epworth on the web at www.epworthchildrenshome.org.

We are currently receiving donations for Salkehatchie. If you would like to make a donation you may do so at any time. Please clearly mark your offering envelope “Salkehatchie”.

New Ventures (our ministry for those over 50) would like for you to join us on a trip to South Carolina Botanical Garden at Clemson University on Thursday, May 4, 2017. Cost for the tour is $5 per person (this includes driver’s fee) plus Dutch-treat lunch. Sign up in your SS class or by calling the church office (276-3903) or Hannah Davis (803-271-6736). We will meet at the church at 8:45 am.

Circle 7 will meet at Central on Monday, May 1st, at 7:00 pm, in the Seekers’ Classroom. We will begin working on nursing home favors. This will be a Sistercare month.

The Invocation

O Lord our God, teach us temperance and self-control that we may live in the Spirit and be mindful of all that Jesus endured and sacrificed for our sakes, and how he was made perfect through sufferings. Help us so to keep the fast that you have chosen, that we may loose the bonds of wickedness, undo the heavy burdens, and let the oppressed go free; through the

grace of Christ Jesus, our crucified and risen Savior. Amen.
