Catechism Classes In Collaborative Partnership with ICAM

assistance due to the pressing need for ”witnesses to the Gospel, sharers of God’s love” –
Catechists! According to PJP II’s Apostolic Exhortation, Catechesi Tradendae (Catechesis In
Our Time), hereafter referred to as CT 18; “Catechesis cannot be dissociated from the Church's
pastoral and missionary activity as a whole.” Let us together as one community of family
evangelizers be servants at the forefront of spreading the Good News of God’s transforming
love!
In partnership with the Institute of Catechetics of the Archdiocese of Manila [ICAM], CFC
through the Couples for Christ Global Institute Foundation, Inc. (CFCI) has offered a
Catechetical Certificate Program for CFC full-time workers and CFC members that will
educate and train them in the basics of Catechism, both content and methodology.

CFC History Project: Journey of Family Evangelizers.
The CFC History Project intends to produce an "authoritative history and development of
Couples for Christ, written in a dynamic, elegant and absorbing manner.” It is a foretelling of
CFC’s story, of CFC’s faith-journey as a community of modern day lay missionaries and
evangelizers.
The CFC history project will present the 35 years of CFC by “capturing the dynamics rather than
every bit and piece of history.1 It will be a compilation of the works of a panel of around 30
writers recounting the inspirations, initiatives and internal conflicts that took place during a
particular period in the life of Couples for Chriat.

evangelizers, and were empowered to be sent forth as “saints and heroes” 2 setting the world on
fire in a distinct CFC way! Families all over the world who are truly for Christ, renewed and
renewing the face of the earth in the Holy Spirit!
“This book aims to document the development of CFC as a dynamic movement empowered by
the Holy Spirit”3. The goal is to launch the book during the 35

Three members of the CFCI Board were tasked to write the initial document on the 3 elements of
the CFC Mission: J.A. Uriarte for Growing in Holiness; A.M. Ocampo for Building the Church
of the Home, and A.M. Santos for Building the Church of the Poor.
The working documents were presented during the Mission Symposium held in conjunction with
the 34th anniversary of CFC on June 18, 2015. The presentation was meant to be a “lineamenta”
where CFC leaders were asked to react to the documents presented to them. The 2 questions
posed to the reactors and the participants were:
a. What does the document mean to you personally within the context of CFC?
b. What would you like to be included in the document that will enrich our
understanding of each of the elements of the mission?
All inputs by reactors and other submitted inputs will be taken into consideration and
incorporated in the final document. The final documents will be submitted to the International
Council for approval, and published as booklets for CFC reference.
