In exercise of the powers conferred by section 19 of the

Kerala Forest Act, 1961 (4 of 1962), the Government of Kerala, after having taken the

proceedings prescribed in sections 4 to 18 of the said Act, hereby specify the limits

mentioned in the Schedule given below as the limits of the forest, which it is intended to

reserve and declare the said forest to be reserved from 15* July, 2017.

Explanatory Note

(This does not form part of the notification, but is intended to indicate its general

purport.)

The Divisional Forest Officer Thrissur, who was appointed as Forest Settlement

Officer in respect of the area which has been intended to be declared as Reserved Forest

vide notification published as S.R.O. 479/2017 in the Kerala Gazette Extraordinary

No. 1594 Dated, 27th July, 2017, has informed Government that no claim has been

preferred and hence the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Forest, Land &

Resources) has reported to Government that the said area may be declared as Reserved

Forest under section 19 of the Kerala Forest Act, 1961 (4 of 1962). Therefore, the

Government have decided to declare the land mentioned in the Schedule to the above said

notification to be a Reserved Forest under the provisions of section 19 of the Kerala

Forest Act, 1961.

The notification is intended to achieve the above object.
