Author Book Talk - Exit Berlin with author, Charlotte Bonelli Thursday, November 5 at 2:00 p.m. Many would label her life as “unremarkable.” Luzie Hatch, a German Jewish immigrant, worked for years as an administrative assistant. She lived a quiet life in a modest NYC studio apartment. person with determination and imagination could—and could not do—to save those she loved during the critical period of 1933–42.”

Author Book Talk: Heroes to the End: An Army Correspondent’s Last Days in Vietnam

Tuesday, December 1 at 2:00 p.m.Jim Smith might be one of the few people that tried extending his tour in Vietnam and was actually forced to leave. As a correspondent for Stars and Stripes, the Defence Department’s daily newspaper, he saw every major city in Vietnam from the Delta to the Demilitarized Zone from 1971 to 1972. Whether is was observing training of South Viet-namese troops by U.S. advisors, watching massive U.S. firepower take

out enemy targets or reporting on other efforts to repel the North Vietnamese Easter Offensive, he was there to witness the event. The book is based on more than 75 articles that Smith wrote for the Stars and Stripes during the period Jan. 1, 1972 - Aug. 1, 1972 during the North Vietnamese Easter Offensive.
