CHAPTER 4 DATA PRESENTATION AND ANALYSIS
4.1 SITE INVENTORY
4.1.1 SITE SELECTIONThis process will be the frst step in designing such high perormance
building creating selective criteria that will specifcally contribute to theconcept building o proposed project.
4.1.1.1 SITE SELECTION CRITERIA
-In establishing this particular project study, site selection will serve as frststep some up with a justifable site or the project that will help not only its viabilitybut also concept building properties.
Selection Criteria suited or the project were divided into two: ajor !specifc" and
inor !general" criteria
Major Site Criteria:
A. Sustaia!"e Site
To begin with a project encapsulated with a high perormance green concept, the chec#list to consider is to compromise with the sustainable site selection.$enerally, the prime intent o this criterion or this #ind o project is to lessen itsenvironmental impact by cutting down the use o energy in transportation, pollutionreduction and %ood ris# minimi&ation. The site selection or the structure has anutmost consideration o the ollowing:
Pu!"i# Tras$ort%Mass Tras$ort Pro&i'it( ' The location o theproposed project must be near to a near to public transportation line or near
transportation terminals with a distance o ('(.) #m radius rom the site. The
general intent at this criterion is to improve the air *uality o the site vicinity
by reducing vehicle use. The environment e+ects o automobile use include
vehicle emission that contribute to the buildup o smog and air pollution.
Increased use o pubic and mass transportation can improve air *uality.
large number o people will be encouraged to use the e-isting public and
mass transportation line i it is is convenient and near to their living and
areas. ncouraging the use at public and mass transportation schemes will
also reduce energy and uel demand or transportation.
Co''uit( Coe#ti)it( ' The general approach or achieving this sitecriterion is to give preerence to the site within an e-isting or on/going
development o urban abric. ctivities li#e business and fnancial,
educational, medical, recreational and commercial must be present near
within the site0s vicinity. The pro-imity is determined by a distance o ( to (.)
#m radius rom site1s vicinity. Considering this services pro-imity, this will
improve the environmental *uality in relation to transportation and
productivity o the occupants. a#ing these activities near the site1s

preerence may improve productivity by reducing the time spent rom
transportation. In some services which are accessible through wal#ing and
bi#ing, this improves air *uality o the site1s vicinity through reduction o
automobile use. In addition, occupants0 health can be improved by increased
level o physical activities.
Mii'a" to *ero +oo, ris' ims to encourage the location o the site to
be minimal in terms o %ooding. This will improve building1s liecycle and
avert building and its occupants to the negative impacts o %ooding. The site
must not be near to a %oodplain &one and e-perience not more than (.) m o
water elevation.
The ollowing thought o these criteria are adopted rom the past chapters ( and 2which cited the di+erent elements o a high perormance building. These are alsopresent in some design guidelines or a high perormance building such as 34 ornew construction and 564 version (.7 or new construction.
For other major criteria, the focus is now on viability, practicability and functionalityof the project.

The site shall be minimal in terms o obstruction to increase potential in

4.1.1.= SITE 3STI5ICATION
5ased on our tabulation in the 3i#ert Scale System, the highest rated site wasSIT , which is situated in 5arangay 5agong 8ag'sa, orth Triangle, 4istrict ( incity o ;ue&on. Considering the major and minor criteria or site selection process,SITE A is able to comply with the re*uirements o the criteria, better than the other
sites.
In terms o sustaia!i"it( o t0e site, the selected site is concluded to betrasit-oriete,location. lot o transportation modes and terminals are presentwithin the vicinity o the site. The transportation terminals o Trinoma mall and Sorth 4S mall are the main transportation hub within the area. Thetransportation hubs move people rom the area to other cities o C6 namely,Caloocan, 8asay, 8araDa*ue, a#ati, ari#ina, 8asig, andaluyong, and Ealen&uela.
