PE TUBE

• PE tube is the abbreviation for “pressure equalizing tube.”

• Small tube surgically placed in a child’s eardrum to assist in drainage of trapped fluid.

• The tube also helps to equalize pressure between the middle ear cavity and the atmosphere.

• EENT is the abbreviation for eyes, ears, nose, and throat.

• BC is the abbreviation for bone conduction.

• BC is the conduction of sound to the inner ear through the bones of the skull.
