•Mrs Gates and Mrs Perkins were also present.

•Mrs Merriweather continues to talk about the negroes, how they are not the same and how negroes should live their way. She says Mrs Rooselvelt must have lost her mind up North. Mrs Roosevelt was the wife of President Roosevelt.

•Aunt Alexandra is shocked about Tom Robinson. She wonders when the town will stop expecting Atticus to do these things.

•Miss Maudie says they are paying Atticus, they give him the highest possible tribute for what he is doing.

•Miss Maudie says there is a group of people in this town who says fair play is not marked White Only, a handful of people who say a fair trial is for everybody, a handful of people who look at a negro and say there for the Lord’s kindness am I. The handful of people in town with background supports Atticus.

•Scout decided that if Aunt Alexandra could be a lady at a time like this, so could she.

•Dill leaves in one day. Jem is teaching Dill how to swim at Barkers Eddy. Scout can not go along because they go in naked.

•Arrives from the office in the middle of the Missionary society meeting.

•Wants to borrow Calpurnia.

•Tom Robinson is dead, he just started running. The prison guards told him to stop, shot a warning shot and when Tom reached the fence they shot at him.

•The guards said if Tom had two good arms, he would have made. There was 17 shots in him.
