Who I amI like what I do - that’s why I do it.

Working with new clients on new projects is always exciting and I have been lucky enough to work on some great projects. Ranging from the identity design for a new coach company to designing leaflets and banners for the YMCA, they have all got my creative muscles pumping.

How I workI like to make sure things are as smoothly and hassle free as I can, so my clients can relax and enjoy the process.

Good communication is key to producing successful design and a friendly approach helps make the whole process more fun.

No one has ever said working with a designer needs to be miserable.

CLIENT: YMCA REIGATE AND REDHILL

YMCA Reigate and Redhill asked me to design an integrated identity for their new Y-Kids initiative. The logo needed to appeal to children and also allow for different colour schemes.

I started with a circular shape, as the identity needed to fit in with the other logo’s used by the client. The grunge effect on the circle gives the logo a slightly rebellious feel.

Lettering for the Y-Kids name was chosen for its similarity to handwriting with crayons. I chose colour schemes that were bright and visible.

The next step was to design some leaflets for the new Y-Kids initiative.

I felt the colours were bold and helped the leaflets to stand out, while the use of the flower motif with the child at the centre gave a strong visual message.

It was important to continue to develop the branding through the use of colour, but also keep to the style that was used in other leaflets used by the client.
