Club development forms an integral part of the FA’s five-year Football Development strategy. The Football Association Charter for Quality recommends that the player is central to all-developmental needs and aspirations. The Football Association Charter Standard Clubs Scheme encapsulates this philosophy by assisting clubs to provide quality experiences for all players. The Football Association, through its Charter Standard scheme, seeks to establish, reward and encourage good practice at grass roots levels so that parents and children can demand a minimum standard of provision from schools, clubs and holiday courses.

INTODUCTION

The football Association is committed to supporting grassroots clubs to raise standards of football provision. Club development forms an integral part of the FA’s five-year Football Development strategy.

The Football Association Charter for Quality recommends that the player is central to all-developmental needs and aspirations. The Football Association Charter Standard Clubs Scheme encapsulates this philosophy by assisting clubs to provide quality experiences for all players.

• One has decided not to bother

Can the FA withdraw the award?

Yes, after due consideration, and the club has had the opportunity to meet with the charter standard working party, the charter standard working party can request that a club has it’s charter standard removed for the following reasons:

• Disciplinary record (Codes of Conduct)

• Failure to attend In-Service Training

• Failure to return annual form.

Typical Reasons:

• Disciplinary points tally

• Racism

• Referee/official/spectator abuse/assault
