2HCl+CaCO3 HCO3- + H+ +CaCl2

HCO3- + H+ +CaCl2 CO2+H2O+CaCl2

Theoretical Predictions› Used 42.0mL HCl (excess reagent) and 22.0g

CaCo3

› (22.0g CaCO3/1) x (1mol CaCO3/100.1g CaCo3) x (1mol CO2/1mol CaCO3)x (22.4L/1mol CO2)= 4.9L CO2

› P= ((.2178moles CO2)(.08205atmL/molK)(293K))/(1.2L)= 4.4atm

Our car’s design was very hard to have any sort of consistency with due to the added failure points.

Although we only had one truly good run (-3in.) we believe our car had the potential to consistently reach this distance if we had fewer design flaws.

Improvements (given more time and better materials) would include› Heavier duty seals/sealant› More consistent nozzle› Lighter chassis› Better delivery method for Calcium Carbonate

No Kimwipes in delivery method Overall we were satisfied with our one good run

although we would have liked to have had more consistency.
