07 - 015Aluminum and Aluminum Alloy Dissolution in Concentrated Phos-phoric Acid. — The electrochemical behavior and surface-finish of Al andAl alloys (3003 and 6063) in conc. H3PO4 is similar. Under all conditions alarge limiting current plateau is measured, but the limiting current density onlyfollows a Levich behavior at high temperatures. The surface varies from matteat low temp. to polished at high temp. with a transition near 65 ◦C. Theimpedance, polarization, and Arrhenius behavior of the system is comparedwith that found for Fe and Cu dissolution in conc. H3PO4 — (VIDAL,ROBERTO; WEST, ALAN C.; J. Electrochem.
