Library carrels can be a great solution to this problem and are perfect for libraries or testing areas. By just reversing the back panel you can switch from desk height to kiosk height or ADA. Materials: The 1 1/4” thick work surface consists of 45 lb. density particle board core with a .030” high‐pressure laminated surface and a .020” melamine backer sheet. The work surface is finished on the edge with a t‐mold edge of your choice that is mechanically fastened every 6 to 8 inches to assure a long lasting fit. The top is pre‐drilled for ease of installation. The 1 1/4” thick side panels consist of the same 45 lb. density particle board core, .030“ high‐pressure laminate on both sides and the edge is wrapped with t‐mold. The side panels are finished with a 16‐gauge 1 3/4” x 2“ steel foot with nylon end caps and feature 1” adjustable leveling glides that provide stability on uneven floors. The back panel is an 18‐gauge steel panel and is reversible to allow the user to set their work surface at either a 28” desk height for sitting or a 36” kiosk height for standing. PANELS, SYSTEMS FURNITURE AND COMPONENTS Manufacturer: HON, Accelerate Panel System Components as needed for a complete installation. Refer to drawings for configuration and panel sizes, etc. Finish: Panel Fabrics / Laminates / Metal Core Paints ‐ TBD Construction: Construction of the panel consists of a welded 16 gauge tubular steel frame. Steel channels are welded to the frame to allow for fabric to be tucked around the edges of the panel. Tackable panels receive an inner core of 15/8" thick hexacomb with ¼" thick 2 lb density fiberglass. Non‐tackable panels feature ¼" hardboard instead of hexacomb and fiberglass.

Two glides are included with each panel. Leveling glides provide 1 ½" adjustment and have a 5/16‐18 threaded zinc plated stem with a black plastic molded 1 ½" diameter base, and incorporate a 7/8" hex for adjustment purposes. The top cap is painted 22 gauge steel and snaps into place over the connecting brackets. The 20 gauge painted steel baserail covers encompass the bottom 4" of the panel sides. The slots of the baserail covers affix to the tabs at the bottom of the glide towers and snap into place at the top of each glide tower. All aluminum and steel show surfaces are finished with powder coat paint in the specified color. The steel slotted verticals of the panel are painted with reclaim powder. Actual Dimensions: Available in heights of 35”, 42½ ”, 50”, and 65”. 80” high panels can be accomplished with a 65” panel and a 15” stacker. Actual height of panel is a minimum of ¾” shorter than nominal height and varies depending on the position of the leveling glides. Width and thickness match nominal dimensions. Connectors: 2¼” square connectors allow for in‐line extended straight, 90° ‘L’, 3‐way ‘T’, or 4‐way ‘X’ connections, and are ordered separately. Constructed of extruded aluminum, connectors are finished with a powder coat paint in the specified color. Slots are included down the length of each post for use with stackers and holes are included for use with variable height connections. Connectors are available in six heights: 35", 42½", 50", 57½”, 65" and 80" and should be specified to match the tallest panel at a panel intersection. The included powder coat painted zinc top cap presses into the top of the connector post, and has windows that can be broken out for various configurations. An included bracket joins connector posts to the panels by press‐fit over the edges of the post and vertical steel tube portion of the panel, and is secured to the top of the panel with two #10–¾” screws.

In‐line Panel Variable Height Kit (B): This kit is used to finish the end of a panel at a variable height connection. The end transition trim piece breaks from the bracket and is pressed into the extrusion. In‐line Panel Connector: This kit joins two panels in an in‐line configuration. It includes the in‐line bracket, four #10‐¾" screws, and 1 glide tower screw. The bracket joins the panels by press fit over the edges of the steel tubes. It is secured to the panels with two #10‐ ¾" screws in each panel. Wall Starter Kit: Kit is for panels only and is used to start a panel run from a wall. Wall starter adds 7/8" to the length of the panel run. Constructed of extruded aluminum with a powder coat paint finish in the specified color. Available in 35", 42½", 50", 57½”, 65" and 80" sizes. Attachment holes are 7/32” in diameter and are located in 10" increments. Electrical: Panel baserails have integrated receptacle knockouts that must be removed in positions needed for electrical, wire and data management components. Replacement duplex covers are available only in Black, Muslin or Shadow. Openings are 25/8" W x 15/16" H. There are two openings on each side of the panel, with the exception of 24" wide panels, which are standard with one per panel side and the 20" wide panel, which does not have an opening.
