CHILDREN ADULT FEATURED PROGRAMS Virtual Pro Se Clinic (Free Legal Help!) Mon., March 2, 3:30 - 5 p.m. Mon., April 6, 3:30 - 5 p.m. Come for a walk-in session with a volunteer attorney to discuss your legal issue in a 10 - 15 minute private session. The sessions are held via webcam. Chair Yoga* Sat., March 7, 11 a.m. Restore balance and focus while increasing vitality by strengthening and stretching your body, clearing your mind, and tuning into your breath. With the use of chairs, we explore poses with a slow, steady practice of movement and breath. For ages 18+. Maker Monday: Under the Sea Lantern* Mon., March 23, 6 - 8 p.m. Make a magical gradient lantern with an under the sea silhouette! For ages 16+. Paper Crafting Class* Mon., March 23, 10 a.m. Beginners to paper crafting are welcome! All supplies are provided, including basic glue sticks, (but if you have a preferred adhesive, please bring it with you). Skywarn: Weather Spotter Basic Class* Wed., March 11, 6:30 p.m. Learn basic weather concepts, fundamentals of storm structure, what and how to report, and severe weather safety from a meteorologists from the National Weather Service office in Pueblo, CO. Learn more at weather.gov/pub/spotters. Maker in Residence: Textile Art * Sat., March 21, 1 p.m. Learn how to create a fabric collage that celebrates the beauty of our Pikes Peak region. Attendees will create two collages, one for the community art installation, and one to take home! Come learn some fun and simple embellishment techniques using fabric markers and hand embroidery stitches to add detail to your collage. Baby Time Thursdays, 10:30 a.m. Babies and a favorite adult enjoy songs and bouncing action rhymes while sharing a book together. For ages 0 - 1. Toddler Time Followed by Stay and Play Wednesdays, 10:30 a.m. Participate in nursery rhymes, music, movement, and listen to a few short books. Stay and play afterward to build, balance, stack, and crash with a variety of educational toys! For ages 1 - 2. Storytime Tuesdays, 10:30 a.m. Preschoolers will hear stories and do a hands-on craft. For ages 3+. Paws to Read Mondays, 3 p.m. Read to a specially trained dog to gain confidence in your reading skills! For ages 4 - 10. Moms Playgroup Fridays, 10:30 a.m. Join the Moms Playgroup and volunteer to help! Local moms and their kids will meet, share a story or two, sing songs together, and then play. For ages 0 - 5. After School Adventures: Card Games Thu., March 5, 3 p.m. Cubelets Thu., March 12 and 19, 3 p.m. For ages 5 - 12. Families will enjoy silly hand puppets and a full-stage marionette show of Jack and the Beanstalk. For all ages. Top Hogs of the Wild West Wed., March 25, 10:30 a.m. Real pigs doing real tricks! John Vincent and his porcine friends present a family fun show that will educate, entertain, and amaze the audience! For all ages. Teen Bingo Tue., March 10, 4:30 - 5:30 p.m. B-I-N-G-O! We'll be playing BINGO in the Library. Snacks will be provided and there will be prizes for the winners. Book Folding: Beginning & Intermediate Beginning Class* Tue., March 24, 4:30 - 6:30 p.m. Learn how to up-cycle a book and turn it into a piece of heart.The beginning class will present the basic principles of the art of book folding. Intermediate Class* Sat., March 28, 2-4 p.m. This class will build on the skills presented in the basic class. Leave with a partially completed design and the knowledge and confidence to complete the project at home. Succulent Book Planters* Wed., March 25, 6 - 8 p.m. Celebrate Earth Month by upcycling old books into planters for succulents! Participants will also learn the basics of succulent care. All supplies will be provided. (If you wish to bring your own book, you must glue all of the pages together in advance.) For ages 16+. TEEN Spring Break Features
