My beloved church family,
Summer is here. As school wraps up, students and families begin to dream about what to do with the new routines of life. Summer can be a time for a church likewise to reflect over where we have been, but even more importantly, we can look ahead to where we want to be in a few months, a few years, and a few decades from now. When the children of God left Egypt, that generation had never known of an existence beyond that of subjugated slaves. They became a refugee nation until they were ready to enter into the Promised Land. They were faced with the challenge of rethinking their identity. And God gave them guidance. “And the LORD was going before them in a pillar of cloud by day to lead them on the way, and in a pillar of fire by night to give them light, that they might travel by day and by night. He did not take away the pillar of cloud by day, nor the pillar of fire by night, from before the people.” [Exodus 13:21-22 (NASB77)]
No less than that generation, we face the challenge of celebrating our past while at the same time envisioning what our next steps of Kingdom service will hold. On Sunday morning, June 2, 2019, I will be sharing with you a sense of mission and vision which I believe God has for our church. I have been in Kentucky since 2013, and I have come to treasure each of you and our church collectively. I have seen the wondrous strength of the body, when we rally together around a common cause. I have seen an ever-increasing sense of family drawing us closer and closer together. I hope you will make every effort to join us June 2, 2019, for worship together as the family of the faithful. Remember this: The shepherd loves his sheep, and rejoices to live among them. Bro. Maurice

accept our heartfelt thanks for all the love and caring you have blessed us with over
the last years of Buddy’s battle with cancer. Your prayers, visits, phone calls and cards gave us the courage to get through each day. Buddy truly loved his church family and the staff. Thanks to the bereavement group for fixing such a delicious meal for us
after the funeral. All will be remembered in our hearts forever.

The Memory Bank
We store it all in a memory bank, The good times and the bad. Happy days that bring a smile And events that made us sad.
New roads soon are old roads And our memory bank-it swells.
The places we have traveled And the stories that it tells.
Never far, no matter where, Those places we have seen, We view them anytime at all There on our mental screen.
There are loved ones in our memory bank
With friends that were so dear, And there they will not leave us. We may always hold them near.
A repository of all that’s been There in a memory bank. A beautiful life is granted
And we have our Lord to thank.
