Chinese Martial Arts
• There are many different types of Chinese martial arts.
• Some of the types are Wing Chun, Shou lin, Tai Chi, and Chinese Boxing.
Wing Chun
• Wing Chun means beautiful springtime.
• Wing Chun is from the southern part of China.
• This martial art is meant to overwhelm your opponent with speed and power.
• Wing Chun has three hand forms Siu Lim Tao, Chum Kiu, Biu Gee
Shou lin
• The Shou Lin kung fu originated in the Shou Lin temple in china.
• The Shou Lin temple is a buddist temple that young boys go too to get training doing kung fu.
• Only a select few of the trainees get to be on the display team, most turn out to be martial art teachers, police men, or body guards.
Tai Chi
• Tai Chi means grand ultimate.
• Tai Chi is meant to promote wellness and to have a healthy body and spirit.
• Tai Chi is based on the concept of Chi.
• Tai Chi promotes the good flow of Chi.
Chinese Boxing
• Chinese boxing is a genaric term for most Chinese Martial Arts.
• Chinese boxing is a mixture of most or all of the martial arts of china.
• Chinese boxing has no real geographic origination point.
Fanzi Quan
• This is another type of Kung Fu.
• Fanzi means to tumble so It means tumbling chuan.
• Fanzi Quan is based on lightining fast movements.
Tanglang Quan
• Tanglang Quan is an animal imatating type of kung fu.
• It takes the movements of the mantis and combines it with the defensive movements of martial arts.
Conclusion
• There are countless other types of kung fu and Chinese martial arts, each one unique in some way.
• I found all of the martial arts interesting and fun to study.
