SCHOLARSHIPS, BURSARIES, & AWARDS
This is a list of over 8,400 scholarships worth $17.6 million that high
school students can apply to. Students are encouraged to apply to as many
scholarships that they qualify for with well put together applications.The scholarships
here are always changing so be aware of dates, deadlines and checkoften. Those listed
within this document appear by the application deadline. Student are encouraged to go
through the entire document, research which ones they would like to apply for, and
apply early. Students are also encouraged to consider completing the Chinook
School Division’s Scholarship 101 Worksheet to prepare (found on the school
division and school website under “Career Development”.
CRITERIA for Consideration:
Students should note that not all scholarships, bursaries and awards are
granted based entirely on academic marks. Many are awarded for various other
criteria such as:
• Interests (examples: music, drama, art, athletic, cooking, and gardening)
• Family related (examples: Military, Co-op, cultural)
• Entrepreneurial
• Humanitarian (volunteer, community minded, service oriented)
• Leadership
• Other … disabilities, workforce
The scholarships listed here are meant to be not a comprehensive list so
students and parents should continue to search for other scholarships. Other
scholarships include new opportunities, post-secondary entrance awards and local
community scholarships. The scholarships, bursaries and awards on this list include

Each local community and school will have a list of potential awards for
grade 12 graduates. Please check with your school as these are specific awards that
are usually posted by each school in spring to the graduating class. These are
specific awards to each school and community.

For the 2019-2020 academic year students are automatically considered for an Entrance Scholarship when
he/she applies to a full-time student loan-eligible program before the scholarship deadline.
Applicants must pay a $55 application fee and submit their most current transcripts for their application to
be considered.
