Q: What makes CHITMUN 2.0 EPIC this year?

A: FOR STARTERS: the entire organising committee is the backbone of

a great MUN… If the committee is great n dedicated and yes

―sophisticated‖ the MUN is on its way to fame ‗n‘ success ‗n‘ and yeah

I was really impressed by MR. MUDIT his way of talking n his dedica-

tion to al this. I am really looking forward to meet the general secretary

Q: Looks like our chair was more interested in THE SECURITY COUNCIL? Why be that? Any personal reasons?

*Wink*

A: Ummmmmmmmm.. I have always given preferences to both HRC as well as SC ..i started my first year as an

HRC delegate and got my first position in eb a president to sc..so yes i can say that there has been an inclina-

tion towards sc considering the quality of intellect present in the room nad level pf debate is quite which cer-

tainly yields to my interest .i consider sc one step ahead to any other council..well yeah but no regrets for meHRC is a calm council n certainly matches my patience level

Q: Favourite past time?

A: Books , PC games...

Q: Favourite Sport?

A: Cricket.

Q: Favourite Object?

A: Cell phone.

Q: Favourite Music?

A: Rap, Pop, Rock

Q: Wildest fantasy

A: Being marooned on a lonely island with Angelina Jolie and Megan Fox...

Q: You are one of the youngest people in our council, ahem ahem.. The young and the restless? Is it? :P

A: Certainly the younger one but not the restless one..my patience is my weapon

Q: Future plans?A: I Want to do political science and honours. and certainly want to go into civil services n aspire to do UN

jobs. I want to make a difference in this world..

Q: And why?

A:coz I‘m quite passionate about it and that's my territory n I certainly want to explore it n exploit it

Q: What college are you planning to go to? A: Hindu College, Delhi

Q: Where did you hear about ChitMUN 2.0 for the first time and what made you apply for it? And again.. why

so much inclination towards the SECURITY COUNCIL?

A: Well for starters i would like to say that my friends got me through it n sent me EB forms just a few days

before dead line so i just applied it..n yes i knew bout the last MUN which was a huge success i wanted to bea part of this one certainly this one is special to me as this ll be the first MUN id be attending after my admis-

sion in college.. So yeah m pretty excited about that

being modest yes it was a bit for the crowd as well level of debate is higher in sc than HRC

Q: So what are your Expectations from the council?

A: Ummmmm… don't know its tough to determine that maybe good debate, delegates, good intellectual dele-

gates and having a good learning time

Q: Mood of the council? ( Straight, Happy, Sad, Horny, Confused? )

A: Well i think horny can be considered as an option but yes i definitely expect them to be happy and satisfied

after the mun

Q: Finally, do you hate yourself for not being a part of the EPIC ChitMUN 1.. which was so EPIC that no one

could ever get enough of it?

A: Yeah i sort of regret it because it would‘ve been great it had known about it

Q: Any last words?

A: Had a great time talking to you after the monotonicity of these college interviews. It was something which i

missed and certainly the most fun interview i have given in days

Looking forward to be a part of ChitMUN 2.0 and make it epic

Day 3 (HRC & SC)

Today ChitkaraMUN 2.0 witnessed a total recall of an ‗action movie‘ where the delegate of Germany (HRC)had a tiff with the EB… man… that what I was waiting for this so long (being in debate and no fights; dogfights,

and cat fights seems offending… huh!... )

But I seriously feel an appropriate approach from both the sides could have saved the day… but as usual…

some people…

If you think the chair of GA had a tiff with the delegate then I must tell you guys that the chair of SC was no

less… He rebuked a girl (oops… I mean a delegate… I'm still not used to the taboos of this MUN) delegate of

France on being asked to extend the duration of the lunch break… dude… just go and see the food court

queue. Wow the turn of the conference (finally)!!!

Questions for some of the delegates:

Delegate of Iraq (SC): are you here to download the stuff… really??? (on special request from AMAN GIRDHAR,

The chief designer)

Delegate of USA(SC): why do you yell so much???

Delegate of USA(GA): being smart is good, but oversmart… hmm???

Delegate of USA(HRC): I know you are the most confident person (but most unsupported delegate of Chitkara

MUN 2.0) but why can‘t you speak sense???

Delegate of Belgium(GA): Ms. Beautiful hair… speak for goddamnit sake???

Hidden truth for the non-performance of some girl participant,,, 25 girls in a single room of 15x25 feet.

Uhhh…. And I am one of the sufferer… (oops… Again the crisis about some ships acquirement was discussed.

I tried to understand as much as I could. but don‘t know why the speakers can‘t talk in their original ascents).

Thanks to the delegate of USA (SC) who provided me with a pen- drive… and you know what I still can‘t write

on the Crisis as no laptop was provided… so the delegate was no help ( see you need the Credit, I gave you

one… hope you liked it)

Day 3 (HRC & SC)

The last day of the MUN; with the sleepy eyes entered the delegates hinting at the hard work they had put in

their research yesterday night but no, no expectations today for they had been dashed the previous two

days. But viola! Whatever you except the opposite happens and today‘s crisis started with instantaneous

passing of chits (which hadn‘t happened the previous two days) both official and unofficial the latter being

the more .Not just that but within a few minutes the delegate of Germany was gagged for arguing with the

chair to which he appealed to the secretary general but lost in the voting by a margin of two votes done by

the delegates and was ousted from the council. Later during the immoderate cocas total chaos ensued with

delegates fighting each other for their lives with delegate of china shouting and delegate of USA retaliating

with much more authority silencing him. Moreover it gave little time to male delegates to talk to their female

counterparts. The delegate of china claiming to observe ―specific elements‖. (Talk about the restrictions

placed on their people).

All in all it turned out to be more eventful day than the previous two days with every element that a MUN re-

quires heated debates and scandals.

With a slow start and not a quite steady one the general assembly with the largest number of participating

nations lacked the heat which was expected to be generated by them .With less eye candy around the

council seemed to be disheartened that the women empowerment was still not up to the mark (that might

have been the reason for their lack of interest). The only time the debate was ever up to the mark was

when the chair battled vice chair who was acting as the delegate of USA. The rest was the same as yester-

day and even more boring. With more than half of the delegates sleeping through the council viz. UAE, Haiti,

Cameroon, Malta, Granada, Canada, Kyrgyzstan (to name a few) debate was mainly between China and

USA (the vice chair showing off his debating skills), so much so that the delegates to speak a little more

than ‗present‘ but still no response but still no response. In the process Cote Divori‘s delegate was sus-

pended for 10 minutes for using his phone. The delegate of Cameroon was found playing table tennis on

his iPad (bragging are we?!) and a few more on their cell phones. This all spoke off the interest they had in

the debate. And then the delegates who spoke, spoke such absurd comments for example the Delegate of

Somalia said he didn‘t have enough resources to use his resources. Some of them didn‘t even know the

rules of MUN let alone being an active part of it like the delegate of Canada. Just like yesterday the dele-

gates were unprepared and didn‘t have their homework done thus dashing the hopes for a scandalous,

exciting and a heated debate.

A combined crisis of the HRC and the GA (which many thought was not technically not possible…

China, making its own material (along with cheap electronics) made presumptuous statements regarding

the citizenship of a lot many countries, which were gibberish to IP and thus cannot be reported in this offi-

cial report.

―It is time to cooperate, not to alienate‖- Uganda

With the rather fishy communication between the Chair and a certain IP photographer, the crisis also had

cupid shooting rather very random arrows to a lot many delegates in every direction, irrespective of their

financial status including underdeveloped countries, thus celebrating the spirit of the HRC. Maybe that was

actually the scandalous IP with its fake and rather provocative chits, which a majority appreciated in its hu-

morous tone intended, while a minority few sulked around in disgust cum confusion.

Later the crisis was resolved by China asking the UN peace making force to seek help in solving the ten-

sions in Somalia and tracing the IP‘s with the help of UK. And thus began the long, intruding and forever

correcting draft bill, in their respective councils.

―The council spread yourself !!‖ – Chair

―You cant handle the feel of it !‖ – China

After a long, relaxed lunch break, the session resumed in continuation to pass the draft bills, which could

not have been more slow (read as ―Germany and its frustrated life‖) and ―China and its ego not to allow any

change‖.
