The end product will be a working project. Explaining 1st Project” Job Portal” details designed by me. Problem Statement: Hiring employees for various jobs in an organization is a tedious task assuming that the credibility of employees is always under scanner. Similarly jobseekers looking for various jobs need a platform where their profile, CV is viewed by large no. of potential employers and provide a good opportunity to get a Job. Title of project: Job Portal Objective & Key Learnings: A PHP based website allowing employers to provide the details of the job profile and asks for jobseekers to apply for the same. Employers can then filter the potential employees and communicate with them for further course of action. Job seekers can create their profile along with their CVs and search for jobs posted by various organization and apply for the same. Driving Question for the project: A platform for employers and Job seekers to communicate according to their needs. Options available to execute the project: For executing the project, following options are available: 1. PHP 2. Dot Net Pros and Cons of each option: 1. PHP: Pros: Object oriented more like C++ and its free to use. Compatible with DBMS MySQL which is also free Cons: Needs a Linux based server to launch a website. A shared server is needed which at times are under th control of domain providers 2. Dot Net: Pros: Coding is easy in Dot Net as classes , objects and its attributes comes in a drop down. Takes less time to code. Cons: It is under Microsoft license. We need to pay for the development environment and also for the database required (MY SQL server) .
