The Nylacast low friction Chock Liner is renowned across the globe for being an industry innovation proven to significantly increase mooring line life, along with the overall efficiency of mooring operations for vessels. The Chock Liner is widely used and equipped to many different vessels including Container ships, FPSOs, LNG carriers, Ferries and many more. Helping to create a vast amount of commercial value and improved health and safety conditions for vessel the vessel builders, owners, operators and crew members.The patented product works by utilising a custom Nylacast material which is intrinsically low friction amongst other advantages. The Chock Liner is used to line the often rough, worn and rusted chocks (or panama fairlead) on vessels. This creates a harmonious relationship between costly, critical mooring lines and the chock itself, resulting in significant safety, cost and performance improvements.Fundamentally, the Chock Liner allows vessel operators to shift from traditional steel wire rope, to higher performing synthetic ropes such as HMPE (High Modulus Polyethylene).The low friction Nylacast Chock Liner greatly reduces and often eliminates abrasion and damage of mooring lines, reducing the risk or tearing. In addition, better equalisation of mooring loads is created which greatly reduces peak mooring loads, especially when in high swell. Elimination of any routine and costly maintenance is also delivered by the Nylacast Chock Liner.The installation for the Chock Liner is very swift and simple requiring no hot work and only the use of hand tools, making fitment an easy, low cost, low risk method.The Nylacast Chock Liner is available in custom sizes and specifications to suit both new and existing vessels.
