THANKS THE REAL PRESENCE Blessed John Henry Newman, one of my heavenly patrons, only became a Catholic about halfway through his earthly life. Thus, worship of the Blessed Sacrament reserved in the tabernacle was only part of his adulthood. Yet, he took to it with the trust and imagination of a child.
After his conversion, Newman went to live at Maryvale - a sort of minor seminary. Right next to his room was the chapel. He wrote in a letter to a friend: “I am writing next door to the Chapel ... It is such an incomprehensible blessing to have Christ in bodily presence in one’s house ...” In another passage from that same time, he writes: “I could not have fancied the extreme, ineffable comfort of being in the same house with Him who cured the sick and taught His disciples ... But now, after tasting of the awful delight of worshipping God in His Temple, how unspeakably cold is the idea of a Temple without that Divine Presence!”
I pray that you would be filled with that “awful delight” that filled Newman when he recognized just who the Real Presence in the Eucharist is.
Sincerely in Christ,
Fr. Matthew Crane

The Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ
- Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen
"As a man must be born before he can begin to lead his physical life, so he must be born to lead a Divine Life. That birth occurs in the Sacrament of Baptism. To survive, he must be nourished by Divine
Life; that is done in the Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist.”

A PRAYER FOR PRIESTS
Keep them, I pray Thee, dearest Lord, Keep them, for they are Thine
Thy priests whose lives burn out before Thy consecrated shrine.
Keep them, for they are in the world. Though from the world apart;
When earthly pleasures tempt, allure, Shelter them in Thy heart.
Keep them, and comfort them in hours Of loneliness and pain,
When all their life of sacrifice For souls seems but in vain.
Keep them, and O remember, Lord, They have no one but Thee,
Yet they have only human hearts, With human frailty.
Keep them as spotless as the Host, That daily they caress;
Their every thought and word and deed,
Deign, dearest Lord, to bless.
Happy Father’s
Day, to all the dads and to
Father Matthew
Crane!
God bless each one of you!
