THE WOMEN’S GUILD will meet this Sunday, January 8, at 9:00 a.m., in the Parish Library. We will be discussing our projects for the new year. All women of the Parish are invited to attend! Come join us and bring us your ideas!

RECYCLED CHRISTMAS CARDS will once again be accepted in the Gathering Space after the holidays. Look for the specially marked drawer or leave them in the wooden donation bins, during the month of January. These will be used for future projects.

JANUARY IS PRO-LIFEMONTH: Across the nation, marking the 1973 Supreme Court decision to legalize abortion. In our parish, we too, reflectourCatholic commitment to this Respect Life issue.

• Precious Feet pins and Choose Life ink pens are available on the counter in the Gathering Space, to help you proclaim your personal stance. Your suggested donation of $1.00 each item will be forwarded to the Diocesan Bethesda Ministry, a counseling group to help those women who are suffering from the aftereffects of having had an abortion.

• Our collections item for January will be diapers of any size and wipes to be shared with the Good Samaritan Food Pantry and the Lifepointe Family Center of London. We ask each parish family to donate one item.

• A Pro-Life banner has been placed in the church yard to proclaim our Catholic values to the community-at-large.

• Annual Pro-life Mass at St. Joseph Cathedral, Bishop Campbell, Celebrant, Monday, January 23, 10:30 a.m., followed by the Roe Remembrance March-to-the Statehouse Event, 12:00 noon-1:00 p.m., sponsored by Greater Columbus Right-to-Life. For car-pool information, call Keith and Linda Collins at 614-879-9186.

• NINE DAYS FOR LIFE PRAYER NOVENA FOR 2017: Beginning Sunday, January 22 to January 30. The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops have asked all Catholics across our nation to join them in this special nine-day Novena to end abortion in response to Pope Francis’s request that we all offer such prayers. You may sign up to receive the Novena prayers daily through email, text messages, a free mobile app, or social media sites, like Facebook, Twitter, and Snapchat. Sign up today at the USCCB website at www.9daysforlife.com. We also hope to offer the prayers in a printed form for those who may not be so tech savvy. As prayer is the most important weapon we have in the battle against abortion, please join Fr. Metzger and the Parish Staff in this Novena. It may be one of the most important things you do in 2017!

“I feel the greatest destroyer of peace today is ‘Abortion,’because it is a war against the child...A direct killing of the innocent child, ‘Murder’ by the mother herself...And, if we can accept that a mother can kill even her own child, how can we tell other people not to kill one another? How do we persuade a woman not to have an abortion? As

always, we must persuade her with love...And, we remind ourselves that love means to be willing to give until it hurts...” – Mother Teresa
