Christmas Bake Off Which of your friends or family see themselves as baking gods or goddesses? With the spirit of the Great British Bake Off why don’t you hold a ‘Christmas Cake Bake Off’ or ‘Mince Pie Bake Off?’ Christmas Jumper Day We all love terrible Christmas jumpers, so get the office to wear theirs for the day, with everyone to make a small donation to PDSA. Christmas Quiz Engage with your local pub, town hall or even school and hold a festive quiz. All you need is our Quiz Pack to get you started! Rustle up a few prizes, choose a quiz master and you’re ready to go! Secret Santa Get everyone in the office to agree to spend a £1 less on their Secret Santa present and put the extra £1 towards PDSA.

Cheese and mulled wine evening Invite all your friends and family over for a mulled wine and cheese night. Everyone attending pays a small donation upon arrival and then let the night commence!

A Christmas Collection Hold a good, old fashioned Christmas collection in your town centre or local supermarket. Stand out from the crowd by dressing up in your most festive outfits. Carol Singing A great way to get into the Christmas spirit whilst also raising funds for PDSA. Get a group together to sing in your local shopping centre or neighbourhood! Festive Ideas

With a bit of festive spirit and a little bit of planning, it’s the purrfect combination for successful fundraising!

Old and unwanted gifts swap Organise an old gift bring-and-buy sale at work, for those gifts that end up sitting at the back of the wardrobe and never get used. A Christmas wrapping station Get a few volunteers to man a wrapping station at work. Anyone can have their gifts wrapped up and ready to go for a small donation! Paper chain race Get teams together and see who can make the longest paper chain in 5 minutes.

Pin the nose on Rudolph Rudolph the red nosed reindeer You will have played pin the tail on the donkey before, this a Christmassy spin on an old classic. Blind fold colleagues and for a £1 donation they can have a go at pinning the nose on the Rudolf.

Jingle Bells Put a collection box by the DJ at this year’s Christmas work do and encourage people to make a donation in exchange for requesting a song. The cheesier the Christmas songs the better. Hold a festive tombola or raffle Great as a one-off idea or an addition to any fundraising event - especially fun at a Christmas Party. Christmas Movie Marathon Night Ask your friends round for a festive night of Christmas films, food and fun! Charge your guests less than a night out at the cinema but have many more giggles. Donations instead of presents Do you really need that fifth bottle of bath foam? How about asking for donations instead of Christmas presents this year instead.

Festive Party

If you’re holding a party, take a look through our party checklist for top tips on how to get your festive fun on!

1. Choose where you hold your tinsel-tastic party Either stay at home or choose somewhere in your local community like the village hall, community centre or pub. 2. Invite your festive friends Download our seasonal invites to email or hand out. Or go online to Facebook where you could set up a private Facebook event, or just drop your friends an email or message. 3. Decide on some christmassy fundraising fun How about asking for a small donation (suggest £3) to attend. You can then choose some fun games to offer as well as festive snacks for the evening with small entry donations to take part. 4. Get shopping The supermarkets are full of seasonal snacks around this time of year. Grab yours-elf ingredients for your festive food as well as anything you may need for decorations, costumes and face painting. Our PDSA shops are also great places to pick up items for fancy dress.

5. Prepare for your purrfect party Get help from friends and family to make your christmassy creations! Download our yuletide bunting, and festive food flags, frosty door signs and much more in our festive kit.

6. Send reminders Make sure you remind your guests about your fun event and prompt them to bring plenty of spare change. 7. Tell the neighbours Make sure you let your neighbours know about the party if you’re holding your event at home. 8. Prep your jolly snacks and decorate the venue Don’t forget to get dressed up yourself. Then get decorating your venue making sure you rope in help from friends and family – many hands make light work! Be sure to label all your snacks so anyone who has allergies knows what to avoid. And don’t forget the mistletoe! 9. Get the santa-tastic party started Make sure you remind your guests that you’re holding your party for a wooftastic cause! Take plenty of festive photos and post them to social media using #TeamPDSA. 10. Magical money! Your money really does feel magical to so many of the pets we treat every single day. Pay your fundraising money in either online, by cheque or over the phone using your credit card.

We recommend somewhere prominent where it can’t be missed!
