I am a certified Commercial Gas Contracts Manager with extensive hands-on experience in a range of commercial engineering projects. I have been involved in operating, installing and troubleshooting gas installations or welding contracts my entire working career.

I am accustomed to fast paced projects where deadlines are a priority and handling multiple jobs is the nom. I enjoy a challenge and take great pride in my work.

My core strengths include Adaptable management style, being able to tailor my communication skills to all levels of

business. Varied skill set across many engineering environments. Commitment to high standards of workmanship, whilst still providing cost effective

solutions.

I pride myself on my line manger skills, I believe in being fair and consistent in my approach and like to offer the chance for my engineers to learn, develop and drive their careers through SMART objectives and opportunities to talk about how things are going regularly and purposefully. I believe this brings out their best performance and I used this approach while running my apprenticeship scheme during my time working at Bay Building Services.

I strive to ensure myself and my teams understand the need for excellent customer service and fundamentally understanding who their customers are internally and externally. Always trying to establish what the customer needs and how to make their experience better than using this to enhance our service offered by putting lessons learnt into practice in a logical and cost effective way.

Working as part of a team has always been necessary within all the roles I have held, and as a team member and team leader I adopt very similar approaches. Teamwork is often a crucial part of a business, and paramount that colleagues and peers work well together rewarding successes as well as offering constructive feedback when called for.I feel that I have learnt over the years to be accepting of people’s differences and be flexible to change and to sell that change to my teams by setting good context and delivering it with commitment that the change will drive the business forward. On many occasions over the last few years I have had to hold very difficult conversations with teams where we have introduced wage capping, reducing hours, overtime bans and enforced leave, I find that the best way to deliver these messages is to be mindful of who I am delivering this news to and always to be clear and honest with the detail.

I relocated to the North East of England a couple of years ago and would like the chance to work for a company like MAK Services. Although I am now based in the North East I am very happy to travel as the job requires for whatever length of period.
