Psalm 103

1 Corinthians 15:45-49

Luke 6:27-38

Introduction to the Liturgy of the Word

In today’s Gospel, Jesus instructs his disciples to love

their enemies, to be merciful, to do good even to those

who do not do so in return. Today’s first reading

dramatizes these lessons. Given the opportunity to kill

Saul, David spares his life even though Saul had tried

to kill him when he had the chance. “The Lord is kind

and merciful,” we sing in the psalm. We are called to

be as well.

1 Samuel 26, 2, 7-9, 12-13, 22-23

Salmo 102

1 Corintios 15:45-49

Lucas 6:27-38
