Gathering Music #43 “All Hail the Power of Jesus’ Name” vs. 1-3

Welcome, Announcements and Opening Prayer Emily LaFlam

Prelude

Responsive Reading Psalm 19 One: The sky is alive with the brilliance of God; the starry night shouts: “God is good!” All: One day pours out the good news to the next; night speaks to night and the word of God spreads. One: No one is speaking; not a word is uttered; voiceless, their voices fill the world with joy. All: Out of his wedding-tent, the sun steps, a bridegroom; he runs like a strong man the length of the sky, and nothing escapes from his heat. One: Your commandments are perfect, they brighten our eyes; your precepts are just; they give joy to our hearts; All: your decrees give us wisdom; your law gives us life; we tremble before you, our awe never ends. One: You order the world by your words right and true— more precious than gold, more than heaps of fine gold, and sweeter than honey that drips from the comb. All: You warn us, you guide us, you prod us, you shape us, and when we obey you, you give us good things. One: Protect us, dear God, from our own foolish pride, and from all who would lead us away from your love. All: Let the words of our mouths and our hearts’ meditation please you, O God, our Rock, our Redeemer, now and forever. Amen.
