Ministry Menu

• Immanuel Engagement, Community Engagement, and World Engagement (online version of Catalog of Ministries – this will shortly be updated to reflect the 2008-09 edition). Ministries are categorized like they are in the Catalog and can also be found alphabetically. This is a great way to get general information about ministries.

• Ministry Search – Clicking on a ministry name will take you to that ministry’s profile page. Profile pages incorporate Profile (Contact info, Mission Purpose, About this Ministry, Meetings, and Monthly Hours), Calendar (just events relating to that ministry), and Photo Gallery sections. Ministry Profile pages are a wonderful tool to learn more detailed information about how ministries function, whether you’re part of that ministry, or interested in finding out more about it.

o From the left-hand menu, clicking on Ministry Search will take you directly to a

list of all ministries.

o From the top menu, clicking on Ministry Search will offer you the option of

viewing ministries in an entire list or by PLACE characteristic. If you search by PLACE characteristic and a leader has desired that ministers have a specific characteristic, that info will be displayed (i.e. if you click on Spiritual Gifts and scroll down to SCRIP, you’ll see that a desirable spiritual gift in that ministry is Administration). If you go to All PLACE Characteristics, every ministry is listed, so you have to scroll down to see the ones that designate characteristics.

o You may use the search text box (with the little magnifying glass next to it) to do

a keyword search

• Fundraising – Lists ministries that are primarily about fundraising. Check out Ministry News and Serve Today sections as well as Ministry Profiles for information on short-term fundraising projects by other ministries, such as Girl Scout cookie sales.

• Spotlight on Ministry – Highlights what ministries do, including recent/upcoming projects and events.

• New Members – Provides information about new members to Immanuel’s congregation so members may better welcome them.

• Saints in Service – Highlights members who are following Christ’s example of serving others to inspire others to do the same.

• Ministry News – Lists church news items that relate to ministries – many of these are also on the Opportunities to Serve homepage (Ministry Home)

• Ministry Forms – Includes forms included in the Catalog of Ministries (i.e. Participant Request form) as well as documents pertaining to specific ministries (i.e. a VBS registration form)

Photos and Media Menu

*This section will soon be updated and will primarily include church-wide combined ministry events such as Neighborhood FamilyFest or the Ministry Fair. Most photos will now be on Ministry Profile Photo Galleries.

Take Action Menu

• Serve Today – Lists church news items that offer the opportunity to participate in ministry work

– many of these are also on the Opportunities to Serve homepage (Ministry Home)

• Calendar – Lists church events, primarily those related to ministry at Immanuel. You may click on events for more information. Notice that events are color-coded to guide you.

• PLACES to Serve – Lists community organizations (outside of Immanuel) that may have need of volunteers. A great spot for new ministry ideas!

• Ministry Leader Resources – A listing of books and websites that may be useful to ministry leaders especially, but also to anyone interested in learning more about serving Christ in our world.

• Neighbor Outreach – Book excerpts with ideas for reaching out to others in your everyday life.

• Contact Lisa (Jaeger) – send a message to the Director of Assimilation and Deployment
