Spotlight on Sammamish FriendsSammamish Friends, a 501(c)(3) non-pro� t organization, provides opportunities for Sammamish residents and neighbors to help preserve and enhance our native habitat and enrich our community. Sammamish Friends is engaged in several initiatives to enhance our community:
· We are working to connect various trails in Sammamish, and to create new trails that will all connect to form a ring around the city. They call it the ‘Emerald Necklace.’
· We seek to enrich our community by fostering civic, environmental, and other groups within the city of Sammamish. As a 501(c)(3) organization, we can act as an umbrella organization that helps other groups meet their missions.
· We work with major corporations such as Microsoft and Boeing to get matching employee dollar donations.
· We work to improve our community by fostering volunteerism. Many of our volunteers work at major corporations. Some corporations pay non-pro� ts dollars per hour for volunteer hours worked.

Evans Creek Preserve Trail Work
Evans Creek Preserve is old farm land that was purchased by the City of Sammamish to both protect the natural landscape and to provide the community with recreational opportunities. The 179 acre site varies from nearly � at meadows to steep slopes. It includes a variety of habitats, including wetland, riparian and forested upland.
Work with city sta� and Sammamish Trail Stewards to � nish the connector trail between Sahalee Way and Evans Creek Preserve! The new trails will be a primitive, natural surface, and will connect Evans Creek Preserve to Sahalee Way. Parties are scheduled on June 19, 28, July 1, 2, 3, 8, 12 and 13.
Sammamish Landing RestorationIn partnership with the City of Sammamish, Friends of Cedar River Watershed
is hosting volunteer projects at Sammamish Landing. The Friends of the Cedar River Watershed works hard to engage people to enhance and sustain watersheds through restoration, education and stewardship. Work parties are scheduled 9am-1pm on June 21, July 19, October 18 and November 15.
