International Student of the Year: Yin New Lwin

Yin’s main goal is to work as a structural engineer in large companies and to analyse and design structural elements in the future. The Advanced Diploma course is a ‘hands on’ stepping stone for her to get in to the industry in a shorter period with basic knowledge.

Her reason for choosing Sydney TAFE was both the theoretical knowledge and practical experience which are required in the workplace, without being

over qualified. She believes that Sydney TAFE gives her the necessary practical skills to get into a job easily and with confidence.

“I was very impressed with the teachers and how they communicated with the students. Sydney TAFE teachers are incredibly knowledgeable about industry, supportive, ready to explain and answer questions at any time. This makes me stronger and believe more in what I am doing.
