American Water Works Association of UC Davis First GeneralMeeting

Are you interested in learning more about the water industry and what that entails? If so, AWWA (American Water Works Association) UC Davis Student Chapter iswelcoming you to their First General Meeting this Friday from 3-4pm at Ghausi 3102B Food will be provided! As a student chapter at UCD, AWWA aims to:

- Promote professionalism within the field of water resources and engineering

- Be a resource for learning about the water industry

- Help you cultivate connections and network with other water engineers andprofessionals in the water industry

The following will be done to achieve these goals

Overview of the position:

At Clark Pacific, the Project Engineer is a position that facilitates the successful design, fabrication,

and installation of architectural and structural building systems. Working as part of an integrated

team within a specific business unit, this role applies engineering, project management, problem

solving, and communication skills across all levels and disciplines within the organization,

significantly contributing to the project success of some of the West Coast’s most iconic and exciting

prefabricated buildings.

• Initial activities pertaining to the Design Phase, including, but not limited to: Submittal drawings

(floor plans, elevations, material specifications, connection details, Reinforcing details, General

panel details, Design approvals, Reinforcement drawings, and Miscellaneous metal drawings.

• Manufacturing-related activities pertaining to the Production Phase, including, but not limited

to: Providing complete shop drawings (panel elements, structural elements, formwork, form

change studies, Birdseye, stripping and yard handling studies to facilitate manufacturing,

Ensuring purchasing of all required materials and forms.

• Field-related activities pertaining to the Erection Phase, including, but not limited to: Preparing

crane studies, rigging diagrams, and the overall project erection plan as well as erection

sequence, load lists, and diagrams, Coordinate shipping of miscellaneous metal, Coordinate

field manpower requirements with Field & Trucking team to alignment to budget.

• General project management including, but not limited to: Project performance to contract

specifications, budget, and time commitments, Issue identification, problem-solving, resolution,

and escalation (as necessary).

Background:

Assembly Bill 617 introduced the Community Air Protection

Program. The program employs a community-focused

framework for air quality monitoring and emissions

reductions with CARB, local air districts, community

residents, and other stakeholders. Our goal is to evaluate

the role that community engagement plays throughout this

process and policy implementation as well as ways to

improve the process for the future.

As part of the study, we will be hosting the AB 617

Reflection & Learning Convening focused on the community

perspectives of the policy implementation. This event will

bring together residents and community organizations from

all of the selected communities.

VOLUNTEER RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Parking attendants and guiding participants to ballroom

- Registration of participants

- Note-taking at each table

- Set-up, passing out of handouts, clean-up

***We are looking for a volunteer with experience in

videography who would be able to record the panel

discussions and take photos.***

If you are interested in helping and learning more about

this convening please let us know! All meals will be

provided throughout the day for volunteers!

To accomplish this, they're running a spring and summer internship program, wherein studentswill travel to our HQ in Lima for 2 weeks, and then work with us to build anEngineering Community on their campus. Tech for Social Good ProgramHave an idea utilizing your major with an emerging technology to address a clinical problem intoday’s society? CITRIS is funding undergrad and graduate teams (2-6 students each) for up to $5,000each through the Tech for Social Good Program that are investing in ideas and technology tomake a positive societal impact. Open to all UCD Majors. Funded projects begin work in February 2020, and are displayed at Engineering Showcase Dayat the ARC in June 2020. On January 31st – February 2nd you can participate in various volunteer projects allover the Yolo County Area (Davis, Sacramento, Roseville, etc.).
