G.P.A.
Grade point averages are used to earn KEES scholarship money, apply for colleges, determine eligibility for athletics, clubs, etc.
Class Rank
Your GPA is calculated each quarter.
A’s = 4 points, B’s = 3 points, C’s = 2 points and D’s = 1 point.
To calculate your GPA look at the following example:
G.P.A.
Period Class Grade
Earned
GPA Value GPA Weight Quality
Points
1 Pol. Science A 4.0 x .5 = 2
2 English IV B 3.0 x .25 = .75
3 PE IV A 4.0 x .25 = 1
4 CCR Math A 4.0 x .5 = 2
5 Physics B 3.0 x .25 = .75
6 Spanish II C 2.0 x .25 = .5
G.P.A. for the Quarter = Total Quality Point / Total GPA weight Total Quality Points = 2 + .75 + 1 + 2 + .75 + .5 = 7
Total GPA weight = .5 + .25 +.25 +.5 +.25 +.25 = 2
7/2 = 3.5 for this quarter
Please note that each quarter of a year long skinny is worth .25 GPA weight while each quarter of a semester long block is worth .5
GPA weight.
