There are thousands of householdmaterials available today. There are

materials used in cleaning the house. They are used to get rid of harmfulbacteria and other microorganisms

that cause diseases. While some ofthese household materials areeective and safe to use! there are

materials properly.

1. Food Preservatives and Additives

Food preservatives are substances

that are used to prevent the action of theagents of spoilage such as bacteria!molds! yeasts and insects.

Preservatives such as sodium nitrate!sodium benzoate and sorbic acid areused to preserve food pac#ed in cans!bottles or even in plastics.

Additive enhances the taste and colorof food.
