• Portable and easy to use• No batteries, just sunlight• Up to 40 litres per day
Provides safe, hot water* (75°C) for a family (5-6 p) on a daily basis. It will serve a family for years. Well kept it will last through childhood.

The effect of heat and UV-B in Solvatten:
Bacteria ( E.Coli) greater than 7,4 log reduction was observed at all water types at >55°C and with a turbidity of 30 NTU.
Virus ( Rotavirus)>5,3 log-reduction and
Cryptosporidium oocysts > 5,0 log reduction

Using Solvatten increases the renewable energy share in the world’s energy mix.
Solvatten is an energy efficiencient tool for thermal heating of water and a high quality water treatment technology.
It gives direct socio-economic benefits such as better house hold economy, a higher social status, a better life-situation for women, better health etc.
By letting the trees that would otherwise be used as fuel stay standing, multiple benefits such as increased productivity, reduced soilerosion, improved food supply and capture of CO2 are achieved.

Only 14% of Sub Saharan Africa has access to electricity.
tisdag 1 december 15
90% of Sub Saharan households rely on traditional fuels for energy

Share value with Solvatten
• Reduced morbidity for children in SubSaharan Africa • Will increase school attendance• Will improve HH economy• 1:26 Social Return of Investment • Solar water heater, add renewables to the energy mix• Value for money: Technology for domestic safe and heated water. 0,001€/liter (>40 liters/day) + Solar water heater, renewables to the energy mix 400-500 Kwh/year

“To use Solvatten is a step closer to having a mixer tap installed in the house. It will take long before we have clean, piped water and electricity in this community but with Solvatten we manage".

Good water, hygiene practice
With Solvatten the general health of the family improves.
Because it is easier and it feels better to wash in clean, heated water.

The Impact Calculator 2015This is what one Solvatten does in one year
The solar technology reduces the need to heat and boil water by burning firewood or charcoal. This leads to reduced deforestation, reduced burning of solid fuels, and consequently reduced emissions, as well as reduced fuel expenses for the urban poor. One year of using a Solvatten unit saves 6-10 mid-size trees.
